I like him playing when Hill is in the game too. I think he plays better with George Hill than with Tony Parker.
IT is pretty obvious to me he plays better coming off the bench and playing with Manu right off the bat. This should be the lineup (Bonner the exception) that Pop should use, Rj seems to be hustling a lot more out there. 8 points and a couple rebounds in 11 minutes. Not bad so far. Maybe this can help Rj get into some sort of groove.

I don't think RJ can play with TP by Sequ
http://spurstalk.com/forums/showthre...efferson+benchSequ is finally right for a change.
RJ played well when Parker was in the game, so nip that re ed in the bud...
But he's bringing the energy just like what Manu does IMO. It takes off a little bit of stress to play well when hes playing with the bench.
QFT (I'm so proud I know that.)
5 rebounds more like it rj
maybe trade talks will get him rebounding
Exactly my thought. Rj will start playing better. I guarantee it!
RJ plays better on somebody elses team
rj line I could live with
he should shot 4-10 or 5-10 though not 3-10
but that was a big three

I don't think it has much to do with the bench..he's played really hard for 2 games in a row now, he needs to keep that effort up on a consistent basis..not holding my breath, but obviously hoping for the best..
reinsert him in the starting 5.
Bringing him off the bench is idiocy.
you bashing pop?
RJ has put in 2 solid games in a row. offensively and defensively. 1st time all year.
Need a bigger sample size before you draw conclusions as such.
LOL he has no choice but to play better, he is better off on the bench if he plays like he did earlier this year.
To be honest, our starters were playing so bad (26% shooting anyone?), that anybody from the bench looked better.
I do agree that he's been playing better lately, and I aslo liked that his first move was a drive to the bucket. He needs to get to the line more often.
As much as I hate RJ, he should be starting because Bonner is too depressing.
Bogans is even more depressing..
I'm not sure this is a long term solution. But it looked good last night. He went 6 for 6 at the line so that gives me hope. Manu is a better playmaker than TP so this move makes sense.
What I liked about RJ was shooting 6 FTs, shooting 100% from the FT line and grabbing 6 rebounds. These numbers are almost twice what he is been giving us this year.
I made a thread about RJ the other day, saying exactly this. He needs to shoot more FTs, he needs to shoot a better % from the FT line, and he needs to grab more rebounds.
And he did just that, keep it up RJ...![]()
Get all the spot up shooters with TP and those who plays inside with Manu. That way we are better off. RJ with Manu and maybe Finley with TP in the starting lineup.
But he was 6-6 at the line. Plus he had 6 boards. If he can do this on a consistent basis, I think our chances are good of getting at least a little bit further in the playoffs than last year.
