I'm trying to find some music that involves those sad ominous violins in the background...usually like in Asian movies...not sure what it's called...I've found something similar...but I'm looking for more...any suggestions...

One of my favorite soundtracks is Master and Commander:The Far Side of the World. Have it on my ipod and listen to it all the time.
this one gets nice and sad at about 1:10. Real sad part of the movie too.
Here's some more good one's that aren't sad or ominous. Just great listening

Are you sure that's a violin playing? Isn't it that instrument you lay on your lap being played? Was referring to the video above.

An Erhu is what your talking about I believe. Also just look up the Last Samurai Soundtrack, Im sure you will find something there. Hans Zimmer is great.
