Jefferson arrested on su ion of DWI

​Drowning his sorrows? Al Jefferson was all contrite on Sunday after he was arrested by a State Patrol trooper I-394 near downtown Minneapolis early Sunday. The trooper reported that the 25-year-old Minnesota Timberwolves center was speeding and changing lanes without signaling before he was pulled over.
His arrest followed Saturday night's 110-91 blowout at the hands of the Portland Trail Blazers.
Jefferson first took a field sobriety test, then a blood test at Hennepin County Medical Center. From there it was off to the county jail, where he was released after an hour ahead of an April 23 court appearance.

"I want to apologize to the entire Timberwolves organization, owner Glen Taylor, my teammates, coaches and Wolves fans everywhere for my actions last night," Jefferson said in a statement released Sunday by the Timberwolves. "I made a very poor decision and I am truly sorry for that. As a leader on this team, I know that more is expected of me, and I am disappointed in myself."

He's been suspended without pay for two games.
