    thought a bit about Lucas.
first tought: he might go back to school, if he doesn't see a chance to be drafted in the 1st round. 2nd tought: a 1st rounder might be a stretch. at least a #20 pick. 26-30 might be worth consideration.
    why he goes back?
he already was at the finals and won't make it this year (if yes, it would be a sensation and he would likely skyrocket the board, because it would be him who carries the team). but they have a decent team and they recruited two very interesting players. (Payne and Appling). only Morgan will leave and he isn't that good anyhow.
so Michigan State might have a very good and experienced team next season. Lucas might want another try for a NCAA le.

if he stays in the draft, he would be an interesting option for a back up PG. if he falls to #50, he might even become a great steal.
he gates the same doubts like many comparable NCA PGs in the last years. scouts think they lack the ideal size and/or the athleticism to succeed in the NBA. that's why some of the college star PGs fall down the boards. but many of this category are currently doing well, some even sensational in the NBA.
(thinking about guys like Collison, Brooks, Lawson, Chalmers, Sessions, Farmer). those guys all proved they can lead an offense in the NCA. many more of the big and super athletic (but raw) prospects have failed.
Lucas fits in the category of floor generals, who know how to run a team, but don't display prototypical size.

Lucas might be an interesting option, if the Spurs traded down from #20 to get 2 late 1st rounders, or they can somehow trade up the 2nd rounder.

An MRI confirmed the junior guard ruptured the Achilles tendon in his left foot during the first half of Sunday's NCAA tournament game against Maryland.

The recovery time is expected to be 4-6 months.
