Shved is known as a very talented young player for years but has barely played because he was with a top team in Europe (CSKA Moscow). He has been loaned this year to a weak Russian team and has produced.
I haven't seen him play a lot since he spend a lot of time on the bench but I've like what I saw from him with a great combination of size, skills and athleticism.
He would be one of the best "draft and stash" candidate for Spurs at #49. He is also a long term prospect as he is under contract with CSKA until 2013 and they won't give up on him after all the time/money/energy they spend to develop him for many years.
I also wouldn't be surprised to see Spurs drafting him. They haven't been afraid to draft players with complicate contract situations like Scola. Spurs are also the NBA team that knows him the best since their head scout for the Europe has worked for years in CSKA.
Thanks. He does look pretty raw but definitely wouldn't be surprised if the Spurs took him.
At 49 he'd be a great pick.

pick # 49: alexey shved
so whats the deal? if we draft him, are we going to give him playing time or send him overseas??
draft'n'stash
He's under iron clad contract until 2013.
Yeah, the Russian Brent Barry has been around forever. As far as draft-and-stash prospects go that could be available at 49, he's pretty damn intriguing. The Spurs are one of the few teams that would have the patience knowing it would probably be a long azz time before he thinks about the NBA.
sounds like Sanikidze all over again.
Would prefer to take a flyer on a kid that could be a 12th man or Toros stud potential Spur down the road ala Alonzo Gee type.
that video on nbadraft of shved bricking so many practice three pointers isn't very encouraging. hardly the next brent barry or penny hardaway.
Is this kid, in any way, similar to De Colo?
Enough of mid-sized combo guards.
True true! We are used to take risk by drafting Europe players and we already have 2 players that have shined and were a late draft pick!
Is this dude seriously 6'5 161 like Draft Express says? I think I'm too thin at 6'4" 170. Jesus.
I'd rather draft and stash this guy than one of the "project bigs," though.
I want the Suns to get him. As someone mentioned in this thread, 2nd round picks are better used on European perimeter players who have a great work ethic, learn the right at ude and the right way to play over project American bigs who have a terrible work ethic and should still be in college.
It was his size/weight years ago.
Shved was measured last year at the Eurocamp. He was 6'6" with Shoes and weighted 186 lbs.
Unless the Spurs have some mega-plan for the rest of Duncan's reign, do we really have time for Godo? Carpe diem!
Outplaying our Finals MVP in 2015, always liked this dude tbh
21pts & 7 assists
He might hit 30 points before Kawhi does
career high. balling since 2015
