“Today is a big day in America. Only 36,000 people lost their jobs today, which is really good.”
Yes, we are in the best of hands.

LAT Headline: "Obama Encouraged by Steady Unemployment Rate"

This Administration and Congress are beyond parody.

    Wait!

Reid reconsiders whether 36,000 jobs lost "is really good"

As the blogger -- who posted this -- said, "Harry Reid; splitting atoms with his mind!"

House Majority Leader Harry Reid returned to the Senate floor, saying his earlier remarks that "Today is a big day in America. Only 36,000 people lost their jobs today, which is really good," were "mischaracterized by those seeking to score political points" and adding that the lost 36,000 jobs is "devastating news."
Yeah, I can see where "Today is a big day in America. Only 36,000 people lost their jobs today, with is really good," could be interpreted to mean, "the lost 36,000 jobs is 'devastating news.'"

    Best.of.hands.

When hearing this, my first thought was yeah, this has to be taken out of context.

Outside the context of it being him describing some other imbecile that said losing 36,000 jobs was really good, I can't think of a context in which he is exonerated of being a stupid idiot.

Weren't we losing about one million jobs a month not too long ago? The fact that we are now coming in ahead of projections and almost to a net jobs gain is certainly better than where we were. So what's the gripe?

    Better than we were?

Better than before Obama took office claiming if we passed the stimulus unemployment wouldn't be over 8%?

Or just better than after he took office, passed the stimulus, then immediatly saw unemployment go to 10%?

Are we really better in any way except unemployment is still growing, but not as fast?

No, were not better than we "were" at any time before OBAMA came to be. And we will never be better than we were until this guy is gone...and someone who actually knows how jobs are created and how to help business create them, is elected. Cuz to this guy, business is the enemy.

And you'll never help our economy and jobs with that as a core principle.

But, then again, Obama really has never been about helping this country become even more prosperous and successful...has he?

Obama is about cutting America down to size. It's what his whole career has been about.

His success, is the country's failure.

    And he's succeeding.

We lost roughly half a million jobs in each of the last four months of 2008 and January 2009. That was before Obama took office. Now, a year later, we are poised to see job gains. How is this worse than before Obama took office?

Also, if Obama is the enemy of business, why the is he bailing so many of them out? Why is he giving them my money? Why didn't he just give the stimulus money directly to the people? Isn't that what a socialist would do? Instead, he gave OUR money to corporations. Isn't that the opposite of socialism?

True. These should be the salad days for Southern Fried Corporatist. Not to mention that the lurking health care "reform" bill would require every American family to fork over a good chunk of their income annually to large insurers.

Or, Barack is merely continuing that which his predecessor had himself continued. Which, of course, W picked up from his predecessor. And so on.

It is a variety of socialism, or perhaps better termed, socialistic. And it's been a significant part of the American political economy for a fair amount of time.

    Continuity, not change.

The dead enders here don't a have shred of intellectual honesty so they won't get where you're coming from.
