"Many of his detractors, and even some of his wavering supporters, will be surprised to learn that in his first year, Barack Obama has already fulfilled at least 79 campaign promises. This is one of the most accomplished records of any first year in office, and it has come with considerable difficulty in working with and around a Congress fraught with obstructionism and distracted by its own scare tactics and mythology regarding specific points of policy, and in the face of the most uniform and inflexible opposition any president in recent decades has faced."

"The 79 promises kept, as fact-checked and reported by PolitiFact.com, the Pulitzer Prize-winning fact-checking service of the St. Petersburg Times, are as follows:

Most of these items are complex campaign pledges that Pres. Obama has been able to follow through on. Some just show he’s a man who follows through on his word, something the media should take more note of. But PolitiFact’s research shows a long list of serious political accomplishments, many of historic import, yet the mainstream media continues to report on the delays seen in enacting the most complex and comprehensive reforms undertaken in a generation, many of which —like healthcare reform, energy policy reform, terror prosecutions and financial regulatory reform— are actually moving forward at a historically meaningful pace, and will likely be achieved in the first half of 2010.

You call that a list of accomplishments? Very few of them are worth the time it took them to compile the list. They REALLY had to reach - it's almost comical.

The list of Repug governance accomplishments over their 8 years of Reign of Error would be an interesting comparison.

So he's made some appointments and supported a bunch of spending initiatives. Just like every other president in history has done. Wow.

What good is this, with all the liberal republicans out there?

    Has he appointed any conservatives?

Last I checked, there were two major political parties in the US.

No. 15: Create a foreclosure prevention fund for homeowners
Even though the banks have the money for it, isn't it a voluntary program? Basically banks got money they don't have to give to homeowners. KENS 5 did a story about it recently. I wouldn't call it a kept promise...nor would I call a number of those actual promises that need to be addressed.

I love Obama, I drink the kool-aid and won't ever hate on him, but I can't see why his "kept promises" are more important than the ones he hasn't kept. He's got 3 years though, best of luck Barry!

And you are too lib ed to understand what I said.

I specifically said liberal republicans, I shouldn't have to specify conservative republican. Conservative is the other spectrum from liberal.
