I love how Laker fans automatically assume that the Lakers are just going through the motions and are simply bored. Go through your schedule...0-2 vs Cavs, 1-2 vs Nuggets, 0-1 vs new and improved Mavs. As well as a pathetic record on the road against good teams. Why people see them as this unbeatable force is beyond me, I mean I understand giving them some benefit of the doubt because theyre the defending champs but given their play this season there is no reason why they should be considered a lock to reach the Finals. They had a great start aided by ridiculously home-heavy schedule, nothing more.

For those of you dumb enough to compare this year's team to 01', just remember you dont have a prime Shaquille O'neal anymore...and during those years the Lakers would have inexplicable losses against average/bad teams, hence them being unmotivated. This year its been the complete opposite where theyve gotten embarrased by the elite and have lost just about every game on the road against good teams. But yeah keep on chalking it up to them being bored or unmotivated. A great start aided by a ridiculous home heavy schedule, nothing more. Dont get me wrong theyre still one of the top, if not the top team out West but have some perspective. They arent this unbeatable force that is simply playing unmotivated, if it wasnt for some of Kobe's heroic game-winners this team would have 20+ losses easily.
