The closeness of the vote in the House makes Mr. Massa's contention that he is the deciding vote at least colorable.
But the beating, factual heart of the matter is that Rep Massa is quitting the job voluntarily for the shame of his own boorish behavior; because he didn't want to face the Ethics Committee, not because he was railroaded.
That his own staff told on him somewhat puts the lie to Rep. Massa's dark insinuation that by resigning he is somehow nobly resisting an attempt to pervert his vote.
