I know we just dropped one to one of the worst teams of all time a couple nights ago but I really feel that if we can keep Hill and Manu playing at their current levels during the playoffs and get Tony back at a decent level, we could pull a 5th championship out of nowhere.

With that said, I think it all comes back to Tim, like it has in the past.

So, having said all that, how did Tim Duncan look tonight?

I saw that he shot over 50% from the floor and had a blocked shot but, did he move any better? Did he look tired or worn out still?

I believe that a championship could be on it's way if we can get TD healthy/confident/in-shape or whatever.

That's a lot of wishful thinking to be honest. I'm not exactly holding my breath at the moment.... just cautiously and humbly watching the chaos unfold.

tim looked good out there tonight. scored all his points in the first half but the 2nd half we didnt really need him too much.

Houston also has noone to gaurd him inside but he looked better and his jumpshot was falling.

He abused the Rockets but they are forced to play small ball and don't really have an answer for star bigs like Duncan. That said, he abused them like he should and was pulling out some of his most effective hooks (8-12 from the field). His footwork looked good and he looked better offensively. Rebounding, defensive presence, and his decision-making looked better as well although I still cringe every time a big tries to throw a touchdown pass.

Looks decent with rest and Manu on the court. He'll undoubtedly benefit from Parker's return since thats even more chemistry, the team was also playing well until that unfortunate hand injury but at least he can rest.

Post game quotes that mentioned Duncan. posted by duncan228 earlier:

    Kyle Lowry

On how the Spurs changed things tonight - “They put a Hall-of-Famer back into the game. We have to make adjustments so when he comes back into the game they made some baskets off of that.”

On the Spurs defense stepping up - “When you have a 7-footer in the paint whose been doing it forever and is probably one of the greatest power forwards in history that is what happens. He definitely knows how to play."

    Head Coach Rick Adelman

On being over matched - “We were over matched inside that’s for sure. We didn’t have a answer for Tim at all and Ginobili played really well. They had the open court on us. A lot of it is when they run the pick-and-rolls we’re playing young guys and we’re making some mistakes. We have toi find a way to fix the transition. We have to get back and slow them down and make them run their half court offence. We really didn’t do that in the first half.”

On the current big three Hill, Ginobili, Duncan - “(Hill) He’s playing very well. He’s gained a lot of confidence since Parker has been out. It looks like Ginobili has been playing the best that I’ve seen him play in the last few years. He’s got a lot of quickness. He’s a tough cover and he’s smart. Tim hurt us inside all night long.”

Tim looked good, but don´t forget the Rox had no height advantage or anyone to athletic to defend him.

tim's always been "pretty slow" but he was much less corpse-like than on the b2bs
