Baloney.
Seriously, ESPN...........
They are losing a few games so what?
They are just bored; 82 games
Remember in 2000-2001 how "ok" they looked before repeating?
Or the Bulls in 1992-1993, who won 55 games that season, as opposed to 65 the previous season?
They will raise their game come playoff time
What about Lebron's ?
Of course they will be fine. They are still winning the west. Thing is if they have to face the Cavs in the finals, Cleveland wins in 6. That team is the Lakers kryptonite.
dude your avatar picture is gross.![]()
You just maybe right i can also see a WCF loss as well I would say odds are:
40% we lose in Finals
20% we lose in WCF
20% we win le
15% we lose in 2nd round
5% we lose in 1st round
The only team I can see realistically having any shot in the west to take LA out it would be Dallas. Thing is I just don't think they are good enough to take them down this season. Could they push them 6-7 games? Very possible.
Utah sucks on the road and they don't matchup well with LA given how the last 2 years have been.
Enver is done with Kmarts injury. Even with him, I just didn't see them beating LA 4 times.
We can beat the Lakers. GuaranSheed.
A few notes lefty.
00-01 Lakers peaked at the right time. 09-10 Lakers are getting worst at the wrong time.
LA's best player in 00-01 was undeniably a force to be reckoned with. LA's best player this season is a shooting guard having one of the least efficient career of his career the past 4 yrs.
00-01 Lakers had a 300 lb, 30 pts and 15 board monster. 09-10 Lakers has a skinny pussy imported from Spain.
00-01 Lakers had some tough and smart veterans guys coming off the bench.
Rick Fox
Brian Shaw
Robert Horry
Ron Harper
Horace Grant
VS
Sasha Vujacic
Jordan Farmar
Shannon Brown
DJ Mbenga
Josh Powell
This year's Lakers are injury plagued and have chemistry issues in March. That's not something any championship team should entering in the postseason.
Lastly, the Lakers won a le against a team led by an undersized shooting guard. This year they will face the leagues Best Player with a deep supporting cast.
Fox was a starter. And a team led by an undersized shooting guard???
Shaq will also come back motivated. I know he isn't lazy. He wants that 5th ring and he is playing for a new contract. He won't be getting any bloated offers but if he wants a decent 2 year contract, he has to come back and produce.
This Cavs team is so damn versatile and deep. The worst player on their bench is Moon or Leon Powe and that is ing scary.
This Lakers team isn't even in the same zip code as the 2000-01 Lakers team or the 1992-93 Bulls. It's embarrassing to even compare them.
As for the "bored" excuse, well... Derek Fisher isn't "bored." He's just a corpse. Ron Artest isn't "bored." He's just slow and over the hill. Pau isn't "bored." He's just soft. The bench isn't "bored." It just sucks.
Only way that team repeats is if Cleveland fails to make it out of the East. If the Cavaliers get to the Finals they will dominate Los Angeles. Six games, tops.
Joe I love seeing you confident and I am pulling for you guys. That being said, you need Shaq to come back and be effective. If he isn't, that changes things dramatically. You need Shaq especially for teams like Orlando and LA. Ferry traded for Shaq based on April,May,June. Now I am not saying Shaq needs to turn back the clock. He just needs to be the player he was before he hurt his thumb.
Of course the 09-10 Lakers are not as good as the 93 bulls or 01 lakers
But the League sucks as a whole compared to to 93 and 01.
My point is that Laker fans shouldn't be worried about those losses.
They should win the West.
(But they won't win the le if they face the Cavs in the Finals)
I guess my point is that I'm not sure that team is good enough to just turn it on and off at will. I see real, glaring weaknesses with that team. I mean, everyone knew with the 2000-01 Lakers that it was just a matter of them getting their minds right. With this team I don't think that's the case, necessarily.
It's interesting that you mentioned Fisher, because the Lakers turned it around in 2000-2001 when Fish came back from an injury.
Since he is not injured, I'm wondering who is going to provide a spark.
Not Kobe, since his leadership is not where it should be.
Not Gasol, since he is a whiny softie
Not Artest, nobody is gonna listen to him and he is a hot head
Not Bynum, too young
Not Odom, too quiet and inconsistent
But the rest of the West sucks and Lakers have the reds in their pocket anyway, so they will win the West and lose to CLE
Iverson is Philly's SG despite what his position states in 00-01.
I wouldn't blame them if they were.
Lakers frontcourt will bend over for Clevelands.
Honestly what the does a Cleveland fan know about winning? With all due respect, shut the up regular season champ.
The playoffs are a completely different beast than the regular season. You should know all about that Cleveland fan after getting face ed by Orlando, nearly getting swept if it weren't for a miracle LBJ shot. Orlando is peaking and are looking every bit as good as they did last year. You have much bigger problems to worry about than the Lakers, you shouldn't even be looking towards the Finals.
As for the Lakers, they are one lazy ass team with a supreme sense of en lement. I don't see any effort from this group, and honestly I don't know if they'll be able to flip the switch. I do trust that Jackson knows what is doing, the man bleeds winning and has always been able to get his teams ready for the big post season run. Once the Lakers starting lineup comes back in full force, i.e. when Bynum returns, they will start playing a lot better. The bench rotations will shore up and we'll see less garbage like Powell and Mbenga on the floor.
Why do you have to have past experience of winning to know your team is the best in the league?
