Manu deserves to be rewarded with a contract, even if, in the final year of this contract, he becomes too old. I've been watching the
Spurs since 1975, and IMHO, Manu ranks #3 all-time greatest Spur ever, behind Tim, and the Admiral.

Sure, I agree, but it´s by looking other players contracts and what could another team offer to have Manu.

I doubt Manu will be here if he would received half of that on the previous contract. Same here, the Spurs needed to lock up Manu. It´s bussines and there are other teams in the market out there.

Spurs gave him too much, one great month is no reason to give big contract to a player who gets old and has big injuries problem and also Spurs could offer him much less and still keep him - he will never be getting close to 13 per year from teams(many better FA this summer and not a lot teams with cap space), bad move by Buford he should have kept him with 8 mil !
