sometimes it's OK to use abbreviations but some unwanted misunderstandings may also make their ways into existence when one Abbreviation can stand for more than one phrases. Take FTW for instance, I used to think the letter "F" represents the F-bomb like what it means in many other abbreviations, but here it doesn't mean anything that bad IMHO.

So please stop using this gay lexicons FFS.

IMHO can be decoded as "In My Humble Opinion", or also "In My Honest Opinion". Although the difference here isn't too big, it pretty much demonstrates how confusing these abbreviations sometimes can be. Just take it as an instance FWIW.

I once saw the word "abbreviation" being used on a british website IIRC, and I think you ought to accept abbreviation being used in place of the official term, as you are used to those acronyms which are folkier IMHO. TBF to acronym, the word "abbreviation" doesn't differ from it as much as how the words "metonym" and "synonym" are differentiated IMHO. Thanks for your advice though.
