David Lee? Seriously... David freaking Lee? He's the same player he was at the end of last season. I hate these things. There are always enough brain-damaged "experts" to make me worry about driving on public streets.

Dr. Jack picked Hill. That's a pretty nice endorsement.
Jemele Hill picked him too . . . maybe she liked what she saw on her phone.

I wouldn't have Hill in my top 3, but I agree that some of those picks are kind of funny..

The thing that gets overlooked too often is how much George Hill has improved throughout the year, with being inserted in the starting lineup playing a big role in that.

I am not so sure that Hill improved as much as the Spurs used him more.

He improved quite a bit, actually. From last year to this year, just as far as the eyeball test goes, he had a lot more confidence, better ball-handling, and just generally more poise. Statistically, his FG% increased (40.3% to 47.7%), his 3PT% increased (32.9% to 40.1%), fouled less (lost about a foul per 36 minutes), and turned the ball over less (lost about half a turnover per 36 minutes).

I had to check who gave a Lebron DPOY vote; of course, it was Tim Legler. He has been able to continue getting checks for something he's terrible at even after his basketball career ended. There's something almost admirable about it.

Actually hard to argue with David Lee IMO.

Also, the DPOY has meant total for quite some time now.

If LeBron gets it by being on sportscenter every week for awesome stunt-blocks, its just status quo for the past seven seasons or so.

George Hill doesn't even belong in the discussion for MIP.

Holy crap, Brooks is 25?! He looks young. Yeah, short and skinny, but he looks young in the face too. I guess his age can be used as an explanation for his poise post-alston trade last season through this season.

That must be something on the Rockets' mind, older player=shorter career with the team. Guy like that will probably go for wherever the money is after his rookie contract? His next deal will probably be his only chance for big bucks.

George seems comparatively young next to Brooks, but he is still kinda old for a 2nd year player in today's climate. Even before I knew about Brooks I also thought George's 'elder' status gave him a slight edge in maturity towards starter/major contributor.

Hopefully George will have a solid post-season. In addition to the obvious reasons it will be nice to hear the courtside commentators bull ting about "Coach Pop's FAVORITE player! Coach Pop says he's the most improved in the NBA, and we think so too. Except we never talked about him besides the times we kept regurgitating the FAVORITE player comment since pre-season. By the way, my suit is really LOUD."

George Hill is a stud. He's got the length, the hops and the smarts to play D, and he can shoot pretty good. More upside on D than TP, and he might even end up being a better PG. JMO.

I was surprised that he get's that much attention at all, considering he isn't yet in the "spectacular numbers" league, like most of the other mentioned players. nice to see.

I am more comparing him to the end of last season, not to the totality of his stats from all of last season. Sure he has improved- but to me moreso in the progression of a player in his second year in the NBA who has been given more playing time, but not extraordinarily enough nor in a manner to be MIP.

I was really impressed with George when he started for the injured Tony.
Not only did he put up 15 PPG, he did so while shooting at a good percentage.

they didn't give Bruce a DPOY, so should we expect anything else from these "experts"?
