The Spurs are a great team according to stat metrics, especially when you look at them after the all-star break.
HOwever, stat geek write-up admits that matchups are more important than "power ranking." What I don't think they really ponder (or admit) is that point differential and efficiency metrics focus are essentially "power ranking" rather than match-up friendly.
Further, our recent injuries make this a hard series to really prognosticate on. If Hill and Parker look good, we should be compe ive and go 7 games at least, if not win the series.
I'm a numbers-oriented guy, so it's good to see the Spurs getting some love here. I'll take data over "swagger" and "momentum" every day.
Let's just hope our guards can stay healthy.
