Stockton wasn't a liability in the halfcourt for 80% of his career.
Both are white, both made it to the finals in 2 consecutive years, Both lost the finals. Both can dish out assists however Stockton has the edge since he has more career assists. But Jason Kidd is a triple double machine. They both impacted the team they play on.
So what do you guys think? Who is better?
Stockton wasn't a liability in the halfcourt for 80% of his career.
Kidd is better...if he played with Malone all those years he would have more assists

Kidd is half black, his breed is much more superior than pure Whitey.
Stockton. Kidd is a good defender, but he doesn't compare to Stockton.
Are you ting me? This is almost as bad as the, "Chauncy a HOF?" thread. Give me strength. Anyone who takes Kidd over Stockton is a complete butt clown.
I'd probably take Stockton without thinking about it or looking into it too much, but he's one of the more overrated players in NBA history IMO..
^The dude is far and away the all-time leader in career assists AND steals!!!
I don't understand how you can think that
not even the same position, you attention seeking .
And the award for most obvious post goes to...
Timvpimp!
Take a bow!
Gotta be Stockton. One team, outrageous numbers, dirty, he had it all. Kidd is vastly superiour physically though, but is slowing down to where he's going to be come a liability soon. Dallas better do their damage now, or they'll be wanting Devin back.
Harris is a ing scrub.
Well assuming it was the Jazz and 50% their scorekeepers i say his real assist number is something around 12000...
Stockton.
Although Kidd deserves a ton of credit for making Neck Lips and Jefferson look like competent NBA players on a few Finals team.
You're gonna need to explain exactly who is overrating him. He's generally referred to as the second-greatest PG, and I've seen him listed anywhere from 2/3 most of the time, and as low as fourth on one list. While many might say his assists and steals totals are a product of longevity, his per-game averages at his peak were ridiculous, and for a career some of the best around. Fantastic shooter, he easily could have been a 20-10 guy if he had so chosen.
I've never seen his name mentioned in the top-10 players of All-Time, nor do I recall even in the top-20. I would say a fair ranking is 20-25, and I think that's where most would have him.
Not overrated at all. While not underrated, I think because he never got a le, his career is underappreciated, and this thread is evidence of that.
Which means he's still the all-time leader in assists by more than 1,000. What's your point?
You are a clown. Harris gave us huge intangibles. They didn't always show up in the box score but he was great at getting loose balls and teams were forced to give him a lot of attention on offense. Thus opening up more shots for other players. Oh and we got more free points in fast break with his speed. His defense against Parker was awesome. He could probably handle Chris Paul pretty well also. Now we have no one to guard Parker.
Still on Harris' nuts? That act is tired. Find some other shtick, imho.
If not for Duncan, Kidd would have an MVP trophy. Stockton played with an MVP that was arguably the 2nd best power forward of all time.
Kidd.
Wow you sure know a lot.We only got to the Finals with Harris and had a 67 win game season. It was not until we got reinforements with Butler, Marion, and Haywood that we became a contender again. And we still miss that slashing off the ball. The only thing stopping us from being a total jumpshooting team.
