Good levels (before meals) are under 110. Within 2 hours of meals, I think they should be under 160?
Anybody knows how this works?, i took a test with my parents machine and my level was at 137, but i had some chips an hour before. My parents say it is high, but they are new to this stuff too so they dont know too much. So can you guys help me out?

When they do it at a doctor's office, they want you to fast for like 8 hours or so beforehand. The carbs in chips would definitely raise your sugar level.
are you so re ed as to believe there are some guys more intelligent here than your genius parents? clearly your parents are blood related pretty closely, I have to say.
For post meal (2 hours) i've seen the range of "normal" be anywhere from below 130 to below 180.
This seems to be the best answer. For most medical tests they ask you to fast for 8 hours. If you've eaten it skews the real results.
There isn't really a way to diagnose after you've eaten, unless you're having additional symptoms of diabetes.
The best initial test is a fasting level (8 hours after eating) of 126 or greater.
If necessary, they can do another test two hours after giving you a standard dose of glucose. If that is >= 200, that will also diagnose it.
That is what I aim for. I test myself in the AM and before I go to bed. I want my average to be around or below 120. When I was first diagnosed as type II diabetes I tested about 6 times a day but now I only do it in am and pm before bed. Sometimes during the day.
As with blood pressure, the avg glucose level is what counts, not peaks.
Avg fasting level (12 hours) of 120 or above is considered pre-diabetic, NOT an "aim", at all.

... yep, pretty much "normal" diabetes.
Type II is lifestyle disease, costing/wasting US health care 100s of $Bs/year, and is easily, reliably achievable with a ty S.A.D., Standard American Diet, and no exercise.
