Video: LeBron James' left-handed free throw

    By Trey Kerby
It's basically unfathomable that LeBron James could ever be hurt. His muscles have muscles, for Pete Mickael's sake. But that's not really the case. Word on the street is that he's a human, just like the rest of us.
Nursing a right elbow injury throughout the Cavaliers' Game 5 victory over the Chicago Bulls, LeBron finally showed the tiniest in his superhuman exterior.

It's not every day that you see the league's best player shoot an off-handed free throw with 7 seconds left in a four point game to clinch a playoff series. Sure that's a hyper-specific set of cir stances, but that's kind of necessary when talking about how rare this is.
As for LeBron's elbow, who knows? The Cavs have a few days off before they begin their series against the Celtics, so he'll have a chance to rest. In a post-game interview, James said his elbow felt like he'd hit his funny bone and that he'd have an MRI done in the coming days. It didn't sound like he was too worried about any long term damage or missing time in the playoffs. It's something to keep a couple million eyes on though, that's for sure.
And if you're ever feeling down, here's something you can always remember as a pick-me-up — even LeBron James isn't perfect at everything. He can't even make clutch free throws with his off hand.

This series will go either way depending on how Shaq is officiated. The calls they were giving him against Chicago were laughable.

LeBron James Will Be Fine, Because He Is Indestructible
    SportingNews

The Cavs’ series-clinching win over the Bulls last night was partially marred by LeBron James’ elbow injury. He grimaced, winced, and even took a left-handed free throw. Had the invincible king of basketball suddenly been felled by the beastly dragon of injury?

No, not quite. As Brian Windhorst noted late last night, no one around the Cavs is too worried about it:

LeBron James’ elbow will be fine. Though James is a little puzzled as to why the issue has lingered for several weeks now, it is not causing him much of a problem. It will likely not be a serious issue. He had some discomfort late after he banged it on the floor but it did not impact his game.

What about the left-handed free throw, you ask? Well, it would be interesting to get LeBron away from microphones on that one. It didn’t make much sense why he did that, especially since he’d made a free throw shooting right handed less than a minute beforehand. He may have been caught in creating a little drama there. He said after the game he knew the game was safe because there were seven seconds left and the Cavs had a four-point lead. […]

The Cavs deem the injury in the "bumps and bruises" category.

Well, that was easy, wasn’t it? The Cavs/Celtics series starts on Saturday, so he’ll have several days of rest until meaningful compe ion. Plus, if he didn’t have to come out of the game late, it’s likely not a huge issue.

More important, though, is the idea of just what would happen to our notions of LeBron if he were to suffer a significant injury. He’s missed games throughout his career with nagging issues, but never anything serious, and in many ways he seems to be an indestructible rock formation rather than a human being. It’s difficult to imagine him on the shelf for games this serious. He’d have to be crushed by a boulder or decapitated, and even then I think he might be able to soldier on.

LeBron projects a feeling of invincibility we haven’t seen since Shaquille O’Neal’s prime. It’s going to take a lot more than a dinged-up elbow to take him out of compe ion.

That was definitely a Kobe moment. Something Kobe would do (and has done). I'm not saying he made it up. I'm sure his elbow hurt. It's just... pretty much a drama queen kinda thing to do. They're both so great they can beat most guys lefthanded anyway.
