I have been a Firefox user for years, but lately it has become buggy and slow and all the techies I know are now using Chrome, so I figured it was about time I learned to use it.

Love the speed of Chrome, and the extensions are great, but one thing - how the do I get my vertical bookmarks bar on the left again? I have thousands of bookmarks and that's pretty much how I navigate the net, so I want the bookmark tree in a vertical box on the right like Firefox and IE. I have searched for half an hour and can't find anything about this? Am stupid, or just stoned?

    17000th posts, yipee!

Oh, and another thing, how do you vary the scroll rate of Chrome when using the up and down buttons to move pages? The scroll is not as smooth, so maybe I have it too fast.

Chrome is a bit buggy yet, but I'm using it myself. The initial memory usage is higher than IE7/8 or FF, but it grows extremely slowly. They did side by sides with the other browsers, and it was shocking how fast FF bites into your memory after just 10-15 minutes of browsing. Chrome also almost treats each tab as a browser window. If a tab crashes, it doesn't bring down everything.

Now, for the annoying things. There are pages that are flat out not supported, my bank URL, for instance. I also notice that if I'm on a large page, and click a link, when I hit the back button, it frequently takes me back to the TOP of the large page instead of holding my place, in fact, the majority of the time it does this.

I think there is actually a feedback/questions page somewhere at Google. Try to search something like "report Chrome issues". It's a work in progress.

You can get an IE tab as an extension for Chrome when you run across one of the 400 websites left that only work in IE:

Chrome and Opera are the two best browsers. Firefox is the worst.

I used to use Firefox all the time, but when the newest version came out last year it was full of bugs. I thought I had a virus at first but upon further investigation I realized many other people were having the same problems and all Mozilla could tell you is to go back to the old version. I scrapped it, downloaded Chrome and haven't looked back.

Im using Chrome too. So far im satisfied, I used IE and Safari before, but Chrome is way better and much faster.

As for the bookmarks, i dont get it. Do you want them to be vertical on the left or right side? At the right there is a little arrow, when i click on it, all my bookmarks are there vertical.

Safari for the Mac is a great browser as well. Firefox sucks on the Mac OS and the Chrome version for Mac is till in the beta stage and not ready for prime time. Don't know why you would use Safari on a PC.

To me, using RSS feeds in Google Reader or igoogle is superior solution to using bookmarks.

IE looks the worst to me. I've been using FF and haven't tried any other besides IE and FF, in comparison I think FF is the better one than IE at least. After getting FF i only use IE in rare occasions, like when I download pornography because I don't want such porn websites remembered in FF. And I'm still using IE 5, the inborn version that comes with the operating system, because I think the younger IE versions suck even badder.

This. Plus, you can type any word in the url and the search bar should bring up the page anyway.

professional choice. You can't think anyone better than Chrome once you first try it. Chrome is sonic fast in contrast to FF and IE which are both snail slow TBF.

I've been a Chrome user since the get go. True, there are a few bugs, like the back button problem mentioned above, but all in all, it is much quicker and less of a strain on your memory.

Loyal FF user, but this thread made me curious about Chrome, it is ridiculously fast. I will try it out for a while before definitely making the switch but early reports are positive.

FF lags on me and people said its about memory leak so I switched to Chrome.

Chrome could've been perfect if not for the browser reverting back to the default teeny tiny font size specially when you have a big screen.
Also, tabs wont fit and no tab scroll so I have to open multiple browsers just to see all the tabs I have open.
