There is one thing that I can't understand, and that is what is it with the Spurs and giving up last second shots at the end of a quarter, at the end of the half and at the end of games. I freakin hate it. They do it all the time. They did it tonight when Beno Udrich got the ball stolen from him and the Seattle player launched it from 3/4 the legnth of the court. It drives me crazy!

Yep, it's one of the defining ups of the Spurs, along with 4th qtr collapses, inconsistency from qtr to qtr, half to half, game to game.

I think it's the Spurs' masochistic way of handicapping themselves, so they keep it interesting. Perversely, I think the Spurs actually like it when apoplectic Pop chews their faces off. It means he really loves and cares about them!!

I can just picture Pop shouting Beno down and telling him he's got to do a better job limiting player's open looks from the opposite free-throw line.

Can't get mad if Nick frickin' Collison heaves a three quarter court shot. Can't do anything about that.

It's a phenomenon. Where is Kevin Willis to balance things out for the Spurs on those?

Marbury twice (once in playoffs). Fish. Boykins. Collison....

16-1? Are you on crack? No team's sweeping Phoenix and Shaq's not just going to bend over either.

Don't forget the Spurs were tooling along 2-Love on the Lakers last season, riding high and stores were selling out of brooms. We all know what happened after adjustments were made on Parker.

They'd better pull an adjustment or two out of their hat, because Parker is victimizing Ridnour. It's going to be tough for them without Radmanovich. Ray didn't even limp to the locker room. If he isn't back for game 2 he should be taken to the dog food factory.

True. I expect to see more matchup zone from Seattle as the series rolls along. The Sonics assistant coach, Dean Demopoulos, spent over 15 years under John Chaney at Temple. The Sonics can play D when need to but they need healthy players to do very well.

    The Sonics can play D
Then how come they didn't vs Sacramento??

Their defense is pathetic. Their big men are stiffs, their perimiter defenders of Ridenour and Allen are spounges.

You're absolutely right, Baseline, since San Antonio will be playing Dallas in the Conference Finals and Detroit in the Finals.

"Marbury twice (once in playoffs). Fish. Boykins. Collison...."

    "Mike Miller" "Earl Boykins"

    and .... Tracy McGrady @HOU.

The Spurs ticket office should add a premium to a Spurs tickets: "includes buzzer-beating, circus shots against Spurs"
