son as the salaries have gone up, the more pussified pro athletes have become. most of them don't play because they love the game, they play for the paycheck so any minor injury becomes a big deal due to their absurd contracts.
when i was a kid watching the nba in the 90's, it seems like injuries to star players were almost unheard of or rare. back then the big stars, jordan, stockton-malone, almost all of them, could be counted on to play all season and well into the playoffs.
these days its like literally 1/2 a teams roster get hurt at some point thru the season, and having 5-10 key stars injured in the playoffs is the NORM. esp 2009 the 'year of the injury'.
what is the explanation for the Drastic rise in frequent injuries to nba players/stars?

CP3 is the biggest pussy of them all.
Oh, you clarified STAR players.
I don't think the amount of injuries has increased. I think it's the players being less willing to play through the pain and wanting everyone to know when they have a bruise or tweak. I mean a major injury is one thing, but you never used to hear about all little boo-boo's players constantly have.
