Well Dallas Tex-Mex does beat that Taco Cabana they serve down in San Antonio. Maybe our basketball team is inferior to the Spurs, but I'll be gotdamned if anybody says we don't do Mexican food better. Since I'm the Man About Town, let me give you the low down on where to go in Dallas:

    Veracruz Cafe in Oak Cliff:

    http://www.veracruzcafedallas.com/

Man About Town says: "More traditional Mexican cuisine than Tex Mex."

    Herrera's Cafe in the Gayborhood:

    http://www.yelp.com/biz/herreras-caf...relevance_desc

Man About Town says: "Get the sour cream chicken enchiladas, or basically anything with the sour cream sauce."

Pepe and Mito's in Deep Ellum:

    http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/13/16723...an-Cafe-Dallas

Man About Town says: "Service can be kinda slow, but the salsa is excellent and the mole enchiladas are top notch."

    La Calle Doce

    http://www.lacalledoce-dallas.com/

Man About Town says: "Nice selection of seafood dishes, strong margaritas and a delightful courtyard for atmosphere and ambience. Perfect place to take your pros ute when you want to show her how classy you are."

Also, I've seen the fat hoe skanks walking around the Riverwalk. Let's just say in Dallas I don't mind getting a little salsa on my enchilada, if you catch my drift.

Nah, L.A. has Dallas beat. With a city of millions of Nationals, the authenticity of real Mexican food is not to be beat.

    The metro-plex's population doesn't touch L.A.'s
You boys down here in Texas do however, have your BBQ down to a science. I'll give you that.

There's PLENTY of places in TX to get quality Mexican food that I have no doubt rivals LA, be it Dallas, San Antonio, El Valle, etc.

Tex-Mex, however, does not qualify as "quality Mexican food."

True. Tex-Mex is a whole other cuisine I guess.
I am just a stickler for all things being authentic. Tex-Mex just strikes me as a cuisine that doesn't know where it's going. Plates that I guess have a twist of Texas flare would I be correct?

Meh, If I am hungry, I'll eat it I guess.

    Thanks for the clarification.

    FYI Dallas area Spurstalkers:

I'll be celebrating Cinco De Mayo tonight at Manor Man About Town. I have already instructed my trusty butler Warburton to prepare a feast of El Monterey Frozen Mexican Food tv dinners and to break out the authentic White China imported from Mexico. Arrangements have been made with the proprietor of The Spearmint Rhino to fetch some ladies for our private party. I'm also pleased to announce Reginald VelJohnson will be making a special guest appearance as Emcee of the festivities.

Some of the amenities will include a pinata, a bouncey house for the kids, and a donkey show, or espectáculo de burro, as they say down south.
