Spurs must win this series IN THE PAINT

And that begins with Tim, he has to dominate the Suns every time he has the oportunity, and that has to happends in every play of the game.

Start the game going with Tim, force them to double him, and get much more phisical in the paint.

The Suns has no centers, nor big man at all, not even closer to a big man. In theory Tim has to destroy them in the paint.

Tim is the key, and then when Tim is doubled, everybody can have a party, penetrating, passing the ball, or shooting the 3s

In the other end, Tim was named in the best defensive teams in the nba this year again and again. Duncan is really a great defender? I do not believe that. Not this year at least. "Chaning who" killed us from 3, when he wants and made those 3. Tim was defending him. He can not stop Frye?????????? Change that defense if Tim can not follow him, 3 points is the only one thing that "Chan..... " can hurt us
Tim run out of gas, in defense, he is slow, he has not got the legs to defend a quicker player like Amare or Chancho Frito at the 3 point line, he is slower than the rest in defense. That is a problem to solve

I believe his a the factor now, settle him in the paint and move around to make a free spot, he is great with the assists to the free players too. Stop with the pick and roll, move the ball fast but begin with Tim killing his defender in the paint.

Tim did more than enough for us to win last night. He is 34 years old. His days of going off for 40 regularly are over. Last night it was more about Manu not being able to do anything offensively that hurt us. Not Duncan.

Saying that, I do agree he needs (and the team) needs to make a better effort on the glass. His defensive strengths are pretty much taken away from him once frye has him pulled out by the 3 pt line. Not his fault. just bad matchups

I agree. I don't think that Tim could have played a much better game minus the free throw shooting.

That would be nice if they were actually hitting those open looks out of the double team. But here in lies our problem when they double Tim the shooters are not knocking them down and we are not getting offensive rebounds.

I'm trying to put an idea here about making Tim the clear leader of the team for this series or at least for the next couple of games. Leaving Manu and Tony in a second step, because Manu is lack of confidence again and Tony is not still at 100 of his play.

Now we are abusing of the pick and roll between Manu and Tim and is not working and Manu is losing his touch again, that is why I want to create a different point making Tim trying to be the first option with a one on one. If he has a double team defense he can distribute the ball quickly all around the perimeter and finds a shooter alone or a defense penetration by Manu.

The pick and roll in the 3 point line is turning into a predictable play for everybody, no surprise at all and no benefits

So settle Tim and move the ball looking for the spot

Timmy led the team in rebounds, points and blocks. What else do you think he should do? His teammates need to step up their perimeter D, and at the same time keeping their man off the boards.

It a perimeter problem. Timmy cant do much more than he did last night.

perimeter? mmmm I disagree, we are having bad shots, no ball movement, we are starting the plays from outside to inside and I say we must play from inside to outside, starting with the dominant player in the paint, named Tim, and spots will be created for the 3 point shooting

your opinion is ill-based. your questioning duncan's ability to guard a perimeter player when his primary concern is the paint - specifically defensive rebounding.

would be awesome if the spurs were hitting them which they weren't.

Tim has always been the key, but sometimes other players have to play better.

Mason, Finley, and Bonner were so supposed to be this teams three point shooters. Now two are gone because they whined (one actually physically gone the other mentally gone) and the other was never actually there do to lack of testicles.

Well, apparently Tim Duncan is not the key, since he played his ass off in Game 2 and they still lost.

The Spurs need the rest of the team to step up. Jefferson did much better but the bench did nothing (other than Parker). They also need to play from ahead (or at least tied) so Popovich won't go to small ball in desperation.

I think McDyess is the key. Like I said, small ball, especially against a small ball team, doesn't work. Pop needs to make the Suns match up with the Spurs, not the other way around.
This I agree with. Unfortunately, ever since he decided out of the blue in the 2006 playoffs that the Spurs couldn't match up with Dallas, he's spent an disproportionate amount of time reacting instead of dictating.
