That's easy. O'Reilly is a mouthpiece for the Republican party and gets 20 hours a week (15 on radio, 5 on TV) to mouth the weeks talking points for the wingnuts.
so every commentator you dont like is a mouthpiece for the opposition? what mouthpieces are there for the democratic party?
First of all, he's not a mouthpiece for the Repulican Party. This Republican thinks he's a blowhard with very little to add to public discourse.
Well he certainly isn't a mouthpiece of Libertarianism that for sure. FAUX used O'Leilly's show to prop up audiences for the other wing-nuts show, Hannity and Colmes. Bet you their ratings are down too.
Meanwhile, progressive shows like Thom Hartman, not carried by the local CCC owned liberal radio 92.5 FM, and Stephanie Miller, very funny, are doing very well. MSNBC's Keith Obermann is only a million audience members per month short of being the top nightly news cable show.
