He has a 1.01 ERA in 7 starts and only has 2 wins.

    That is sad, really.

The Astros are going to lose him to the Yankees in July if they don't sack up and start supporting him.

Yes he does..the only thing that might keep him in Houston is that his son is also going to be playing Summer ball in Houston and he is really wanting to watch Cody pitch whenever he can.

Kody, or Koby. I forget which, but I know Roger's kids all have "K" names. And Coach Augie signed him to play 3rd base for UT next year.

    Agreed.

I mean if he gets on a good team, 400 wins in not out of the question.

He is throwin better than ever, and shows no signs of slowing down.

Walter Johnson basically had a fastball and thats it.

Roger can probably be classified as the greatest pitcher ever and you can make an extremely good case very easily.

Nolan Ryan compared to Roger Clemens isnt that great in the long run.....still great for all that he did.

Rocket's throwing aspirin tablets past juiced-up hitters half his age in a shoebox home park.

I don't know about the best ever, but in the top 5 certainly.

I dont think they have had to lower the mound because of his pitching.

    Bob Gibby Gibson.

    Understatement

Nobody could work the corners inside, outside, up, down like Greg could. Best control ever, he was a maestro with the baseball.

nobody got the benefit of umpire's calls either.

If him or Glavine werent Braves on the "hip" team of the 90s, then they wouldve been mediocre pitchers, that easy.

Gibson, had STUFF, and had nuts.

    Period.

u gotta be kiddin me with that statement, no way they would have been mediocre pitchers. the umpire's had nothing to do with their success. the reason they aren't the same pitchers now is because they can't locate on the corners like they used to, they are leaving more balls over the plate.

Maddux won a Cy Young before he even made it to Atlanta.

As big of a Nolan fan as I am, he isnt near those other guys as far as a total pitcher. He had the heat and longevity, but was never even the best pitcher in his league for a season. (No Cy Youngs.) He has a ton of Ks, but he has a ton of BBs too - more than anyone by a lot.

Career win % of .526, only twice had 20 wins in 27 seasons - he was great, but not one of the best.

dude was a horse though, 5 times he had 20 or more complete games, twice pitched over 300 innings and never had an era over 4 until his last year. his poor winning perecentage is due to the teams he played for, only played in the playoffs in 5 of his 27 seasons. he would no doubt be held as one of the greatest ever had he played for a great team.

I could lead the Astros in batting average at this point.

    God, what an awful team.
