Carly Patterson is why the Olympics are awesome. Performances like hers, Paul Hamm's and Michael Phelps are the reason why the Olympics are still special. The Dream Team thing tends to make people cynical but watching these athletes give there all and care about their country is truly enjoyable to watch.

And if you manage to take off your USA, Slovenia, NZ or whatever hat (which is easier in compe ion where your country is not participating) watching other athlets giving their best is really inspiring and does make you forget for a little while in what poor state the world is otherwise.

There's one guy on the US team, Jason Gatson, he looks like a football player...a huge brute...one of the announcers said he was like the Hercules of the male gymnasts...he is 5'8 160lbs. I wouldn't say he's short but he looks freaking huge out there compared to the others.
The Romanian dude that caught the huge air on the vault, he is ripped, he looks like he could play the terminator, one of the announcers said he was musclebound...he is 5'4 135lbs.
That hard Russian chick, Svetlana, the one who said the Gold Medal was more important to her than mothering her own child..she looks like a giraffe or something out there compared to the other gymnasts, like she is almost too big for the equipment, she is only 5'5. Again, I don't think she's really short for a female, but she's huge compared to the other gymnasts.
Patterson is 4'9 yet she looks fairly big compared to some of the other girls. There was one chinese girl that actually looked small compared to the others, I don't remember her name but she must be about 3 feet tall to look short compared to Patterson.
She wants to be a dentist.2
One thing, she is going to be a millionair now, will she bust her ass studying in school, now that she is going to be loaded?
