    http://marketplace.publicradio.org/f...s/budget_hero/

All the levers and current proposals are there.

Double click on any given card to get the pros/cons of the issue.

When tooling around, don't forget the "taxes" option.

The badges are there to show priorities.

Enjoy. If only the real budget were as easy to adjust.

It doesn't really give you the ability with three options. This game sucks, but I did knock off 11 trillion.

Pretty much. I raised taxes, cut expenses, and got the size of the overall federal debt to a much smaller part of the economy.

Too bad RL moves to pay down the debt aren't so easy.

I think the game did show it is possible.

That's a pretty cool link, RG.

I did ok...raised taxes...cut spending here and there. Manged to bring the total debt under 50% of GDP. Guess that's a start.

I thought it was an absolutely idiotic link.

I wasn't able to make the changes I thought was necessary.

It was based simply on currently proposed legislation, and not intended to be all inclusive of any potentiality.

It is a mildly interesting toy worth a few minutes to mess around with on one's lunch hour.
