You're a ing tool. Go ahead and make a poll asking which trade looked more lopsided at the time it was made. The Celtics at least gave up a serviceable big in Big Al... who did the Lakers give up again?

Really though, did the OP think that Celtics and Lakers fans were going to take some sort of stand? "No! We refuse to celebrate these tainted championships! The league must take a stand!"

The Celtics gave Big Al +

the Wolves lottery pick they owned that they used to draft Kevin Love +

2 more first round picks +

    a good young role-player in Gomes +

a huge expiring in Blount +

a couple of young players with upside.

This was a heck of a trade for the Wolves. Not even comparable to the Gasol deal.

Another disadvantage for Boston is that they actually had to suffer through 2 lottery years in a row to collect the assets, one of them a horrible year where they ended up getting the #5 pick, lower than expected IIRC..

The Lakers missed the playoffs ONCE, and they didn't even end up using that lottery pick for their deal..in fact, that lottery pick(Bynum) has been useless to them in regards to their playoff runs..

So when you look at what the Celtics gave up and what the Lakers gave up, it's night and day..kind of ridiculous..granted 2008 Garnett is better than Gasol by a decent margin, it still sucks for Boston..

    Your conclusion is correct.

In exchange for Garnett, Minny received:

    Jefferson
    Gomes
Theo Ratliff (and his huge expiring contract)
    Sebastian Telfair
    Gerald Green
1st round pick used to select Jonny Flynn (returned to Minny from Boston)
1st round pick used to select Wayne Ellington

I predict there'll be some meaningless drama/media circle jerk about PJ retiring during the offseason.
And the Lakers will again land some ridiculous prize.

If anyone saw the season SA had before Duncan...you would know that they didn't have to tank...that was a legitimate suck!

LA and Boston didn't break any rules. They availed themselves of the system in place and made their teams better. Have we as sports fans become so spoiled or jaded that we have to automatically assume that foul play was in order every time a rival does something that our team didn't? I don't care for the Celtics and I really don't like LA but if the Spurs or Suns or Mavs made those moves, those fans would not be whining. Sadly, LA and Boston fans would be.

21 Blessings just being the idiot he's supposed to be.

The Wolves gave away an aging KG when they realized they couldn't compete to get his salary off the books, while getting a better offensive talent in Al, Telfair, Ryan Gomes, Ratliff's expiring, two 1st round draft picks. KG is just a s of the player he once was

Meh. I havent watched the playoffs in the past 2 weeks. I wont watch the finals. I could care less who wins.

That said, Spurs fans need to stop whining. We didnt even PLAY L.A., so how did the collusion hurt us?
