Greg (Cape G)
What would you say the chances are the Spurs would trade Tony Parker? And have you heard anymore or anything at all about them trading up in the draft to get Favors?
Chad Ford (1:28 PM)
I believe they're open to it if they can get two young assets in return. I think San Antonio understands that if they don't start rebuilding now, it could be two late. If they could get two high picks or one high pick and a young player, I think they'd do it. One scenario floating out there is Parker for No. 10, Troy Murphy (in the last year of his contract) and Brandon Rush
The Spurs are not giving up Parker.
The 10th pick plus Murphy isn't good enough either.
Troy Murphy is the illegitmate twin of Matt Bonner.
switching 1 last year against 1 last year... very smart!
I don't see any reason either team would do it.
no way we do that garbage ass trade.
As bad as this trade is for the Spurs, it makes even less sense for Indiana. Absolutely stupid trade idea. Chad Ford needs better sources.
Wow
Murphy and Rush for TP?
WTF
The only interesting possibilities I see for a Parker trade right now are Iguodala/Holiday if Philly thinks Evan Turner can replace Iggy and something along the lines of a Mayo/Conley/Thabeet scenario... both deals would bring starting talent plus a second PG to compete with Hill for minutes.
i remember when everyone was all wet about brandon rush i like him and murphy and 10th picks and 20th pick not bad but i still think parker is worth a little more
This is Chad Ford people. The guy who said Darko and Skita would dominate in the NBA.
that shows how stupid he is![]()
Murphy is pretty overrated. he's averaged a double-double, but Indiana has just about the worst rebounding big for a center (i forgot his name). he's not bad, and he's definitely better than Bonner, but no way you give up TP for him and the 10th pick. the 10th pick is an unproven player and Murphy's numbers will naturally not be as good on a better team. i'm not on the bandwagon to give Parker up. the Spurs need to ship Jefferson and his expiring out.
When you have the opportunity to trade Parker to get into position to draft the likes of Mouhamed Sene, Luke Jackson, and Jarvis Hayes (all #10 picks in recent drafts) you have to pull the trigger.
in that case we would be stupid not to do it.
Yes, I know Chad Ford was the source but:

well who are the Spurs lookin at #10?
Giving up Parker for murphy, rush, 10th pick isn't worth it, but I wouldn't mind listening to some deal that included Danny Granger for TP, it helps us now and long term. But the pacers want a PG right, could the spurs work out maybe a deal sending George Hill and Jefferson to the pacers for Granger, then the pacers can use their 10th pick on Gordon Hayward, because then they would need a G/F to replace Granger, plus the pacers might like this bc Hill is from Indiana. I would miss George Hill, but adding a player like granger is well worth it.
Roy Hibbert.
believe = I don't know what the I'm talking about.....let me just ramble on and sound good.
Thanks for playing Chad. You just don't have the goods.
What about him? Roy Hibbert is the equivelant of Ian Mahimi, but fatter.
As much as i love Parker, and all the great things he's done for the city of San Antonio. This trade needs to go down.

Roy Hibbert has played very productive NBA minutes.
