It is pretty amazing that BP could have installed emergency shut off valves up stream from the leak but decided that protecting the eco system was just not worth the extra cost…

but I want the spill to keep on spilling.

so that BP will go down in flames, bankrupt, and this oil spill will go down in history and be etched into the minds of americans for many decades

hopefully it spurs the country to begin funding for scientific research into renewable clean energy.

Are you so stupid that you don't know that lots of people are already working on renewable fuels?

The government actually needs to get the out of the way. Any time they try to manipulate the winners/losers they it up.

You are the naive one thinking government is the answer.

Just look at ethanol from corn as a perfect example. That is the stupidest alternative fuel option out there but the subsidies went to the highest bidders. ADM bought and paid for their politicians and has siphoned off billions of our tax dollars while squeezing out all other viable renewable alternatives.
