I was just talking to my girlfriend on the phone, and I happened to mention how Bruce Bowen had finally made all team first defense(), and that it was the first time I've seen two spurs make the team.
She was like, "What other Spur made it? Duncan?"
I nearly choked on my Freebirds Monster Steak burrito. Then i managed to ask "Are you freaking serious????"
And she was all "Yeah, i mean, Did Duncan make it, was it him or not?"
And then i was like "Babe he's made first team all defense and first team all nba every season he's been in the league"
Then she actually said "Wow, is Duncan really that good? I mean, I knew he was good, but I had no idea he was that good."
At that point I didn't know whether to choke again or start laughing.
I was like "Babe you've seen like so many games with me over the past 2 seasons, how can you not tell he's that good????"
And this is what she said next:
"Well I mean, he's good, but he's just so quiet and slow all the time. I mean he never keeps shooting it, he just moves around looking bored and tired"

Mrs. Chopper has been around for 14 years of my somewhat insane infatuation with the Spurs and I had to announce to her a couple of weeks ago that the playoffs were starting. Her response:
"Did the Spurs make the playoffs?"
Sad, but true. If I asked her what comes to her mind when I say "Brown, Parker & Bowen" she'd think I was talking about a law firm.

Well i guess im in the same boat on this one. The guy im seeing is CLUELESS about sports, but he puts up with it he will watch games with me if im watching, he could care less whats going on, he just sits back and laughs at me yelling at the TV.

I was lucky my ex was a big sports fan so it made watching games alot easier, especially football and baseball she was big into those, of course being from san diego she wasnt huge on basketball, but two spurs games in november got her to be a spurs fan.

It took me a while to get use to the Spurs playing style. I played ball back in high school and grew up watching the Bulls and the Rockets.
