Texas turns down pac10 and A&M turns down SEC.

Big 12 will remain intact with just 10 teams. They are not looking to add to the puzzle.

UT/A&M/OU will all get payed around $20 mil annually which is more than double than what OU and A&M were making before. UT will also have their own network which is estimated to bring them an extra 3-5 mil annually. The remaining 7 teams in the big 12 will also see pay increases and are estimated to make around $12 mil annually. For example Baylor made around $6-7 mil last year and this new deal will also double their revenue.

Since it will just be 10 teams left in the conference, the championship game has also been ruled out.

All this speculation for nothing. At least its over

I think I've said this already, but I love that the Pac-10 leaves this whole thing with Colorado. They deserve this the same way USC deserves Rick Neuheisel.

LOL, I guess Chip was right. Awesome UT going to have their own network and now aggie can stop borrowing money from their academic funds. I gotta think not having a le game will hurt, but then again OSU got in twice in a row with no le game.

So now we're basically the big 10 and the big 10 is the big 12 with a le game and Nebraska's whiny ass.

Looks like Fox Sports brought the new TV deal for the big 12 not ESPN. Also will be equal sharing among A&M/UT/OU

    billyliucci-TWITTER

    1. Couple of other notes: Fox Sports apparently doing the TV deal...equal revenue sharing between A&M, Texas, OU less than 10 seconds ago via web

not going to it looks like. They're going to keep just the 10 teams. Mainly for $ reasons. They don't want to split up the revenue anymore than they have to. UT/A&M/OU just received a major pay day.

Everyone just received a major payday. The best case scenario for some of those teams was Conference USA if things had continued.

    <- For instance.

I like how ESPN spins their completely off, false reports from earlier today by implying they were right but Powers changed his mind. Rofl, Chip scooped ESPN what else is new.

I can't believe the long term plans are to remain at 10 teams. For the time being it will work, but I fully expect them to be looking for a couple of schools to improve the quality of the conference.

After this past week, I am not sure what passes as a "source" anymore. ESPN is a joke.

Yep, UT, aggie and okie were going to get paid regardless. It's the Baylor, KSU, and KUs that got their asses pulled out of the fire and got a big raise. So does this mean no more north and south and everyone will just play each other?

If big money making programs came calling I'm sure the B12 would look at expanding but no way they take on the likes of TCU/Houston/Memphis or any schools like that. Also, If they do end up expanding, It will most likely be schools outside of the state of Texas.

Probably, but there's no reason to hurry. If they do it right, they can attract whoever they want down the road. I've suggested TCU and Houston, but there's just no need to do that at this point.

It's like the old southwest conference. This could be entertaining. Time to invite the northerners into the rivalry.

Definitely going to be weird. I just hate the fact that their is no championship game. Oh well. Teams are going to need and start scheduling a tougher non-conference schedule.

That's exactly why I love the idea of no championship game, which sacrificed football for an extra chance to generate revenue.

Well it looks like the rest of the big12 puckered and gave Texas what they wanted.
