Is this going to be the most watched NBA game since the Jordan era?..
Im not gonna say that I told you so.
But Im gonna say this: I told you so
Did people really think Boston was going to win game 6 in LA?Said Boston in 7 since the begining.
Man what is more annoying than getting waxed tonight is seeing all these Celtic nut huggers holding onto false hope. Guys if Boston was going to win this series, they would have done it tonight. Destiny is not on their side. Plus that Perkins knee injury looks bad. I don't see how any of you can be so confident in the Celts right now.
Agreed man.![]()
Well, all the intrigue has been sucked out of what should have been a very good game. It's not confirmed, but apparently Perkins tore ligaments, which means he's more than likely not playing in game seven. So once again, the ing Lakers get lucky, as their unprecedented run of luck continues (they've blown the late 90s Yankees out of the water in this regard at this point).
Every time they need a bailout or someone/something to jump to the rescue, it happens. It's unbelievable, uncanny and all too convenient that it's happening for them.
Bynum, who's been hanging by a thread for weeks, of course he's still playing. Since there's a good chance that Williams receives some minutes in game seven, if I were Rivers I'd send him to start the second quarter when Bynum returns and replaces Gasol and I'd have him get locked up with him in a battle for a board, pretend to slip or trip and unintentionally intentionally smash into Bynum's leg. That or if Bynum has a dunk and Williams is in the vicinity, hard foul him as hard as he can. The Celtics have to attempt to level the playing field or they've got no shot in game seven.
Something freakishly weird would have to happen for the Lakers to lose a championship on their home floor. They are the better team.
Except for 2006, 2007, and 2008, your theory is right on the money.
Typical Lakers fan. Let's pretend all of their success over the years is just because they've been better than everyone else. It had nothing to do with luck, officiating, mysterious "trades", a constantly bloated payroll, players taking less to play their and if you want to go back far enough, players playing their because of where it was located and what it would mean for their earnings off the court. No, none of that factored in, it was all just because the Lakers were run better than anyone in the league.
At least TD showed up supporting his Celtics.
Good for you, turdhound.

I'm not mad at all, but you Lakers fans sure are anytime someone speaks the truth.
This is your reaction: "What, you mean you're now in awe of the Lakers and aren't bowing down to them and kissing their ass? Is this allowed. We're not used to this, particularly after the three hour blow job of Bryant/the Lakers that was ABC's coverage".
Wow these games were close! One single play made the difference between the Celtics winning or losing out on four rings.
Sterns banking on it.
The Don Nelson clank off the back of the rim above the backboard and back in was a real stab in the heart!![]()
i have a feeling that Ron Artest is going to choke in game 7 and somehow lose the game for the lakers....i dont know it just seems too unreal. haha
What Laker fan denies those advantages?
NY, LA, Chicago are always going to have those advantages as big markets. Boston too to some extent.
The Lakers have the added advantage of being an attractive destination -- well run, historic, glamorous, etc. Helped bring Shaq no doubt. Probably Malone and Payton, too, though that didn't end well.
Where your whine runs dry is in overlooking that much of this advantage has been mitigated by the new CBA. Superstars don't change teams via FA much anymore. It has been a long time since a superstar signed with LA because of the reasons you gave.
The NBA, like life, is not entirely fair. It will never be. I think the league has a duty to make compe ion as level a playing field as possible, but it can't make LA mid-market or unglamorous. It can't make NY obscure or a boring place to live. Why fans of SA and other small- and mid-market teams don't just appreciate overcoming that obstacle and enjoying it rather than whining about it doesn't quite add up to me.
I say this as a fan of the Minnesota Twins. Mid-market, the Yankees have innumerable advantages over them. Ain't fair and throw in a CBA that doesn't protect compe ion like the NBA does and it's almost comical. Just makes me appreciate 1987 and 1991 all the more.
Something freakishly weird like... being outscored? ISTR this happened last week. Why is it so far-fetched?
Just like after every game, overreaction to one game. These teams are still very evenly matched.
You can't just look at the end result. To gauge these teams you also need to look below the surface at how the teams are winning. The Celtics never dominated games like the Lakers did in games 1 and 6 and it took an unusual record setting performance for the Celtics to win game 2 in LA. The Lakers were in every game they lost. These things tell me the Lakers are the better team, particularly on their home floor. When the Lakers play desperate on their home floor the Celtics cannot match them barring something weird like Ray Allen going 12 for 12 from 3.

I'll say now that I'm almost 100% sure that the Game 7 officials will be:
Dan Crawford
Bennett Salvatore
Scott Foster
