With Avery off the market for the unforeseeable future. Any chance Pop tries to bring Mike Brown back on his staff and promises him to be the heir apparent? I know Brown loves S.A. He's often made reference to how much he cares about San Antonio and has basically said he would love to coach the Spurs at some point. Is Bud really the man to succeed Pop?

I think if there were a spot open on the staff, Pop would have brought Quin Synder on board. I don't recall Pop ever having brought back a coach who has moved on. Also, after having won 120 games over the last two years, Brown probably has bigger fish to fry, like another head coaching spot after a year or two off to recuperate.

Pop doesn't do retreads. If he did, he'd be better off bringing back PJ.
