Over that last play by Reggie. Larry Brown crying like a little Karl, and Carlisle saying "bull , spare me." (short version).

I'm on Carlisle's side on this one. The call could have gone either way, but Reggie didn't really push off too much. Look at their feet -- Reggie used some very crafty footwork to get space and get that shot off.

But Larry, of course, was going to whine. That's what he does.

I often wonder how he and Pop are such good friends.

Yeah then 'Sheed guaranteed a win in game four. Just like he did last year at the end of game one when Reggie beat them with a last second shot. We shall see...hopefully history will not repeat itself. Go Pacers!

That was called right. Little bit of push, but a ton of flop. If Reggie's chopstick arms cause you to fall and slide back that far, you shouldnt be playing in the NBA.

There didn't appear to be much contact by Miller on Hunter. It was a nice try by Hunter to draw the foul call but after seeing the side-view replay, it wasn't really a foul. It was a good, non-call.

If you consider all the clutching, grabbing and body-up Hunter did as the play was getting set up, it was probably the least contact at any point during the 4-5 seconds prior to the shot between the two players. Word.

I could never stand Larry Brown. His whine after this game was classic. He was mad because he said the refs were deciding the game, but then wanted the ref to decide the game and call a foul on Reggie.

Hunter flopped. I haven't seen a replay where I see any contact at all.

    Pops doesn't have enemies?

BTW, what's the point? it was not just a pt. game? Save your breath Coach Brwon and play good basketball next game. at least upgrade your FG%.

I'm on Carlisle's side as well.

Reggie Miller was going backwards. When your momentum is going backwards, it's pretty hard to knock a guy *forwards* five feet.

    Nice flop though.

I thought it was a push, and I thought they could have whistled it, but for Brown to cry about it when his team played so terribly is ridiculous. This is the playoffs. The bottom line to me is the Pistons didn't do anything over the course of the game to deserve to get bailed out by a whistle. In crunch time of a tight playoff game you DO NOT try to draw a charge, you man up and play defense.

    1) LB gave Pop his initial NBA assistant job.
    2) They probably have other non-basketball things in common.

I lost a lot of respect for LB over his treatment of Delfino. I think Pop is much better at handling people, knowing who needs a pat on the back, and who needs a kick in the ass.

It's also kind of ironic that Detroit's bench is not nearly as good as it was last year, and that they had to put Lindsay Hunter on Reggie at the end. What about Darvin Ham? Isn't he your defensive specialist? Wouldn't that be why you put him on the post season roster? Oh, yeah. He can't score. Delfino can, and has the size to at least contest a shot from Reggie without having to resort to a flop.

I usta play ball at a club where Larry Brown would come and do his "aerobics."

It would be funny. Some of us bball guys would go into the aerobics class and be at the back of the room doin' the "man, look at her" thing...and Larry Brown would in the front sweatin' up a storm with the girls. He would be wearing these skintight pink leo s with an oversize purple t-shirt. It was sorta...well, weird.

I know Larry wasn't gay or anything. I've had drinks with him at some local bars, and he would hit on girls...real party guy. But the guy was sorta creepy.

Never thought he was that great of a coach. He kept shuffling players in and out of the team way too much for my taste. You'd get some chemistry with a few players...next week they were gone.

He puhed off but he still had to knock the shot down and it was a great shot.

    On to the next game.

Yep. Reggie Miller did a whole lot more to earn a win on that play than Lindsay Hunter did.

The one thing I'll agree with Larry on is that the "hold" call on Rip on the baseline on Reggie was a weak call.

I was surprised Tayshaun wasn't on Reggie, but they had him on Buckets. Kinda dumb if you ask me, you know Reggie is going to take the shot.

Confucious say, if you have five fouls, don't grab two handfuls of jersey in front of the baseline ref. It was pretty obvious. The only dumber foul in that game was Tinsley grabbing Chauncey when Detroit was in the penalty and he wasn't even shooting. That put Detroit in the lead.

No . Reminds me of another quote I've heard: If you want people to stop shooting at you, stop giving them bullets.

More ing by Larry Brown. It was an excellent no call. Just because a player automatically falls to the floor, doesn't mean a foul was committed. In my opinion, the NBA calls way too many offensive fouls to begin with.

Anyhow, Larry Brown needs to worry more about his teams lack of offensive firepower, which is absolutely horrible. It was the same way last year, but they were fortunte enough to win a le despite it. But if you want to be a repeat champion, like a certain other team out on the west coast, you have to bring both defense AND offense consistently.

"Never thought he was that great of a coach. He kept shuffling players in and out of the team way too much for my taste."

he wins everywhere he goes, took the clippers to the playoffs (which may be his most remarkable accomplishment), and is the only coach in the history of basketball to have both an nba ring and an ncaa ring. you can't really argue about his status as a coach.

If Larry would just play Darko, everything would be better for the Pistons.
