Schubert is out of it?
yeah...he came in 3rd. The other two are in a runoff.
talk about
dumb and dumber.
a liberal tax and spend dumbass.
The other a liberal LAWYER.
Damn talk about ed and even more ed.
That is your town for you. But, it is like that everywhere. Everyone es, no one does anything to change it.
Rumor has it that it will be a close race but youth will triumph over old.
the town has spoken up recently and the city has actually listened. the city said o no to proposed city manager salary and and she let... the city has also lowered garza's 21 mil proposal for soccer...
To what? I hope it was to zero, last thing this town needs is a soccer franchise that will fail in two years.
Julian Castro's hot.![]()
It's a REALLY good thing I'm too young to vote, and I know it.
Those of you mourning Schubert should know that he would have done everything in his power to let development interests run roughshod over community interests.
I'm in the development field. I wish I could post some of the comments I've heard about him.
I really don't know much about the other two. After a little research, it seems like Castro is not really suited for this much responsibility. At best, he would be a mayor that treads water for his term, showing up at ribbon cutting and speaking in empty pla udes about San Antonio's brighter future, but looking good while doing it. Hardberger comes across as too rough around the edges; eager for reform, but not politically savvy enough to pull it off.
I think all the development money that flowed into Schubert's campiagn will shift to Castro. It's a safe bet, but more importantly, they see Castro as somebody naive enough to be easily manipulated; whereas they know Hardberger would be a huige pain in their ass.
Can't wait til Art Hall runs for Mayor in two years.

True.
I see Castro winning this race big time for all the reasons mentioned in this thread.
BTW I'm hispanic and my vote will go for Phil.
Call me crazy but I'm voting for Castro.
This is exactly correct. Exactly
You're crazy.
Tpark, you didn't even know the first election was over!
I hadnt heard the final numbers.you didn't even know the first election was over!
All I knew was that Castro was leading with hardberger and Schubert having pretty close second, didnt bother staying up later for it.
I live outside the city limits so im not allowed to vote in the election, but I wouldve voted Schubert, just for the fact im a conservative and he was the closest.
Castro is a whack, and I couldn't bring myself to vote for a damn lawyer. We have ENOUGH lawyers in government as it is.
Ew.
That man looks like a rat. A really confused Ed Garza wannabe rat.
Art Hall is the next Mayor.
2007.
You know, the only reason to vote for Castro is if you like a guy with greased hair who says one thing and does another.
But hey, if thats what floats your boat...
You just described 90-95% of all politicians, Manny...
