Then Portland is not trading for a small forward who makes $12 million a year for the next 4 years. That's why people are wondering the legitimacy of this trade rumor. Regardless if Batum were to start, which McMillan would have to renege on if they make this trade, Deng would heavily cut into his minutes. Isn't that the reason Portland traded away Martell Webster?

Trade doesn't make sense for Portland unless they plan on trading either Batum or Fernandez.
