Blew your wad on a few max free agents? Out of cash and looking for a border-lined NBA player to fill out your bench?

    Hi, I'm Roger Mason Jr...........

Well, it would've been nice had they been interested in him when the Spurs were offering him in the package for Salmons.

I swear, I think theses teams just don't want to do business with the Spurs sometimes.

Salmons would have been the perfect ingredient for the Spurs last year. He would have allowed Manu, Tony, and Hill more rest, which would have made them more consistently efficient throughout the playoffs. Those three guys were simply out of gas every 4th quarter.

Do you understand what has happened, people?!?

The Bulls could've addressed their 3-point shooting by acquiring Mason and Bonner (I believe the latter was involved) and whom were on expiring contracts -- they turned it down to trade Salmons to a division rival for a D-League player and a guy who's on the verge of signing with the Suns (Warrick)!

Mason and Bonner in exchange for Tyrus Thomas and John Salmons and whatever else needed to make the deal work. Yeah, I totally get it. In fact, I was one, along with several others like yourself, that were begging for this deal to get done. I thought Chicago was absolutely insane for NOT doing this deal.

Of course, had they not be so stupid as to allow Ben Gordon to walk away in free agency last summer, they would've never had the deficiency at the 2-guard spot in the first place. Absolute idiocracy!

Mason has been bad enough that he could seriously not make an NBA roster next year. If teams really are interested in him, good for him.

    Personally, I'd celebrate.

That would mean he ain't on the Spurs.

"We've talked quite a bit," agent Mark Bartelstein said. "There are ongoing conversations."

Mason, 30, is a 6-foot-5 guard who had a career year in 2008-09 with the Spurs before dropping off last year while playing with a hurt hand. He had surgery in mid-May to repair a torn ligament in his right hand and is expected to be fully recovered by training camp.

In 2008-09, he averaged 11.8 points a game and played 30.4 minutes a game for the Spurs. He shot 42.1 percent from three-point range, hitting 166 threes, the 10th most in the NBA.

Last season, his statistics dropped dramatically, as he played 19.2 minutes and averaged 6.3 points while shooting 33.3 percent from three-point range.

"He played hurt a lot," Bartelstein said. "But he is a valuable piece because he can play both guard positions."

Bartelstein said close to a dozen teams have shown interest in Mason, who made $3.8 million last season, but none of the talks have reached the point where money has been discussed.
