sorry I just cant.
Sorry if this is for BELIEVERS only, but nothing has given me hope that the Spurs can do it.
The Suns-Mavs series is tied 2-2 just like the Spurs-Sonics series. Everyone thought that the Suns and the Spurs were going to just roll to the Western Conference Finals and they aren't. Maybe they got y. Maybe their opponents are better than we think.
But bottomline, nobody is going to roll into the WCF now.
No fans were ing about the offense when the Spurs were up 2-0 and Manu, Tony and Tim were all averaging 20+. No one was ing about the defense when Ray was awhen Bruce Bowen was in his shirt.
Tonight sucked. It was a bad, bad game. The offensive execution sucked. The defense sucked. But why do a lot of you put more value into this sucky day than the Spurs great days?
Re-group.
Believe.
Win.

Again I ask, why do you give a bad game more value than the Spurs good games?
BTW, get Danny Ferry and Believe out of your sig.
lol people melting down... The challenges are what makes a good series. It's game on now. It's 2 out of 3 now... winner takes all.
The only thing I'm mad about is that I predicted the Spurs in 5, I guess it's now Spurs in 6.
NOT IN OUR HOUSE.
Seattle's gaggle of chumps won't get off like they did tonight on the road. They need that crowd behind them.
because they didnt try. They got blown out by an inferior team.why do you give a bad game more value than the Spurs good games
They took a series with all the momentum and lost it, and now are in danger of pulling an 03 04.
Also, we fell into the rut of not adjusting.
WE ARE NOT ADJUSTING!! THEY FIXED NO PROBLEMS FROM GAME 3!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn straight. Bring on game 5.Re-group.
Believe.
Win.
Luke Ridnour had the quarter of his life. If not for that, the Spurs -- despite sucking ass -- win. Do you realize that?
Snap out of it, TPark.
Ask your mom to slap you.
I would, but everyone is in bed.
Luke Ridnour had the quarter of his life
because of our failure to adjust to the pick and roll!!!
DUH!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wake her up. These are desperate times. You are one of the greatest homers of all time. The Spurs can't lose you.![]()
Spurs ;ost gmame 3 because they didn't execuite, now the bad game.
What will be the game number 5 like?
I still belive but I remember the last year.
Damn I'm so pissed of
I originally THOUGHT Spurs in 6. Guess it's just gonna have to come true.![]()
BELIEVE BABY!
You are one of the greatest homers of all time
maybe, its time I stop being one.
I disagree, a Homer, would also be blindly support Brent Barry right now, and I dont, so Im sorry, im not a homer, probobly a die hard stupid fan, but not a homer.
If the Spurs' effort and the history of this team is any indication, there might be one team rolling into the WCF...
No fans were ing about the offense in games 1 and 2 because Parker and Ginobili went toward the basket and got easy scores, drew contact, drew double teams, opened up opportunities for their big men to get offensive boards and for their shooters to get wide open looks. No fans were ing about the offense in games 1 and 2 because open players took shots with confidence and hit them. No fans were ing about the offense in games 1 and 2 because their defense was active and got turnovers which turned into easy baskets on the other end.
I don't know about anyone else but I put a lot of value into a sucky game only when it follows a bad loss and shows a complete lack of heart on the part of every player in the game not wearing number 21, as well as showing a complete lack of preparation or adjustments by the team since they got completely torched by the same play two games in a row.
If the Spurs can't figure out the pick and roll with Jerome James, Danny Fortson, Luke Ridnour and Nick Collison there's no way they're going to be able to beat any of the other teams still in the playoffs. If they don't figure out a way to regain their aggression and stop looking to the refs to bail them out every trip down the court they won't beat Seattle again.
Off topic ... did you hear Pop call Walter Pasacrita a homer in the postgame press conference after game two when Walter asked if the foul calls were questionable?
Pop saying Homer repeatedly was hysterical.
Okay, back to the thread.

a ing men.
That was just great.
newsflash: its been over
pop gave up after game 3.
My cynicism comes from realizing Pop's one great flaw: adjustments. If a team makes a major adjustment in a playoff series on defense, our offense gets shut down. And that starts the vicious cycle where we start pressing on defense, making mistakes, allowing scores, while not scoring at the other end, and the downward spiral begins.
Most recently it's been:
'02 - Lakers start doubling Duncan viciously, while effectively "zoneing" the Spurs weakside shooters - three players defended by two men. Offense, and the Spurs = toast.
'04 - Lakers start packing the paint to make life for Duncan and shut off Tony's casual strolls down the lane. Offensively, they started screen Bowen to get him off Kobe. Game, set, match.
'05 - Seattle has made the same adjustment on defense - zone the lane, and by proxy Duncan. And on offense, they've moved their pick and roll from the angle over to the top of the key, neutering the Spurs "send them to the baseline defensive system."
Two games and four days later, Seattle is rolling and beating us over the head with the same ing play over and over again. And Pop doesn't know what to do.
Game, set, match.
I've always been a big picture kind of guy. You only need two colors, black and blue, to paint one of our playoff offense.
----------
And here's the kicker: back in the fall when we were getting out and running, and running a lot of motion on offense, we were rolling teams. KILLING them. Naming the score every night. , even Barry was looking good running with Beno and the bench brigade.
Then the clock struck '05, Pop started getting "playoff mode", and we have gone back to a postage-stamp sized playbook, and are getting our teeth kicked in yet again.
ShoogarBear put it the best a few weeks ago: the personnel change, but the trends remain the same.
There's only two guys who have been here the whole time ('00-current) we've been looking like ass on offense in the playoffs: Tim and Pop.
I don't know about anyone else, but push comes to shove, see ya Pop.
cant argue with that.
And if the Spurs re-group and adjust, figure out how to defend the pick-and-roll, and get back to executing on offense ... and win. Then what?
Of course you can argue that. You are talking about what happened last season against a Shaq and Kobe Lakers team. You aren't talking about now. Series don't end after four games. They end after four wins.
key word IF.
If they win?? Great, I think phoenix will be even tougher.
But I dont think they are winning, cause precedant shows Popovich doesnt in adjust.
