Like right after they were all eliminated from the playoffs, both of them (and Wade) just announce what everyone had suspected anyway, and told the world that they've wanted to play together since the Olympics and plan to try it out.

I think they would have saved themselves a lot of criticism taking this approach. Instead it looks like they just tried to blow smoke up everyone's ass, which I don't personally have a problem with, but it seems to have led to a lot of problems in the media. At least for James, as the biggest name.

I think people would have respected that. Cleveland fans would still have been pissed, but at least the players would have been upfront about their intentions and not gotten everyone's hopes up.

I actually think it would have been pretty cool. Nothing wrong with 3 friends wanting to play together for championships. Just be upfront about it. Might have saved themselves a lot of trouble.

At the least the 1 hour special wouldn't have driven the dagger that much deeper.

That's why Bosh is hated over here. Everyone KNEW he was going, and everyone had a feeling where (wherever Wade ended up). Nothing wrong with leaving, but purposely acting like an obtuse, effeminate rubbed people the wrong way.

And because people don't really see Bosh on the level of LeBron/Wade, he's also been getting the "who the are you?" reaction.

Yeah, Bosh hasn't been getting it bad because he's not a superstar, and Wade hasn't been getting it bad because its his team and he's already won a chip.

Lebron especially could have saved himself a lot of headache if he just came clean from the start. But Bosh would have saved himself some flack from Toronto fans, who are probably the only people on earth who care enough about him to be upset. At the least he'd have made it easier to go back there whenever he wanted.

Sons if Stern and NBA has any backbone they would have told Lebron he can't go to Miami.

I guarantee if it was Dallas they all were going to....he would have stopped that right away.

These clowns planned this years ago and played the system. They had no intentions of going any where else

    my realgm post:

    The point:
The three deceiding to join together, that happened before july 1st, definatly (days, weeks, maybe months). They can try to talk whatever but for sure they didnt make up their minds in the first week of FA.

So why not telling it on the morning of july 1st?
    1) giving Riley time to dump more contracts (Beasley) when no one really thought this (big 3 together) could happen

    2) if they announce it straight at the beginning the Bulls, Nets etc go straight on to the next big FA. As a future Heat player, what they didnt want to happen? Bulls signing JJ and Boozer/Amare or Nets signing Gay+Lee/Amare etc.

With the delay and the charade that other teams teams have a shot at all three of them they blocked max slots, other FA signing back with their old teams because the cap teams were still waiting for the big 3.

So, they played all the teams for over a week of FA just to weaken them most possible.

And regarding James: He did not just **** with the Cavs (kicking in their nuts on television), he also played with all the other cap teams.

Lebron decided on Thursday morning, then he announced it on The Decision for the Boys & Girls Club..it's not like he could have admitted it earlier, it was obviously a tough decision for him..

Everybody in Toronto knew Bosh was leaving months ago..

Good luck convincing anyone JJ and Rudy turn down the most ludicrous contracts of the summer simply because Lebron and Bosh announce they want the Heat.

...and I have a bridge to sell you over in Brooklyn too.

Anybody who believes that Lebron decided Thursday or even within the last few weeks is a fool. This was planned back in 08 and they have said so. Miami brass has stated they were positve it was going to happen. It's no coincidence that we all saw Bron tank against Boston.

They played the media, they played franchises, and most of all... they played the fans. That you admit you were stupid enough to fall for the BS LBJ spewed in his media circus show only shows your ignorance and gullability.

Clearly... this was all for the kids!!!!!

If they get off to a great start in the regular season the fickle media and fans will be kissing their ass once again. If they win a le it'll be a slurpfest.

Tampering is okay and allowed for certain teams according to Stern.

This is one instance where it might be a good idea to investigate tampering.

These three players messed with the long term futures of a lot of teams by stringing them along with the false hope that they ever had a chance in of signing with them.

Stern should do something, but he won't. Cuban is actually right to be upset in this instance.

I think people are just being es about it.

Yes, they were egotistical, self-serving, and unprofessional. But, ultimately, who cares? People in Cleveland would have still found ways to about it. People everywhere would have still called LeBron a pussy for going to Miami. He gets more backlash, but everywhere except for Ohio won't care once the NBA season starts.

Sure it could have been handled better, but it really doesn't matter that much.

Absolutely. There's no way to do this without breaking Cleveland's heart, but there's a decent and kind way to break someone's heart, and then there's a humiliating way. Lebron chose the latter, which just shows the world what an ignorant dumbass he is.

I'm pretty sure I saw that Bosh said something along the lines of "The three of us have been dreaming about this moment for months" and then quickly retracted that and said "days" instead. I need to find the link to it.

Did Cuban bring up tampering regarding this? Is there a link? I must have missed that one.

Can't find an exact quote but this article mentions it

    http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index....iamis_cou.html

During a rally for Miami Heat fans Friday night, Chris Bosh said he had been talking with new teammates LeBron James and Dwyane Wade about the moment for months.

It was a slip, which some, including Bosh himself, caught.

......Bosh quickly revised the statement and said they had been talking about it for "days."
