its possible splitter to be ROY, if he posts something like 13 8
I dont think its possible at all....Wall or Turner....and Blair is not a 6th man...so eh.
Could definitely see Splitter in the top 5. As for Blair, how about Most Imroved?
Splitter could pull it off if he gets 30+ minutes. Thats a long shot though..
At least 35 minutes a game.
Splitter's a winner
can't just count him out
How about Splitter with the 6th man?
Also, I'd like Blair for most improved as AFBlue said.
Wall/Tuner/Griffin/Cousins will make it hard for anyone else to be ROY! Lets give Splitter at least 2 months before we bring him up in these kind of discussions!
Blair isn't the typical 6th man...most teams have scorers in that position and a 16+nothing often is more impressive than an 10+8reb.
Not saying that there isn't a chance, but who cares! Its all about the team and not these stupid (especially 6th man is pretty stupid) intividual hornors.
Splitter will not be rookie of the year. He may not even get starters minutes until well into the season.
Splitter will get starters minutes cos the last thing we want to do is run TD into the ground before Christmas again.
So you're saying NCAA is better than Euro league?
With McDyess and Bonner also in the rotation neither of them will get enough minutes to win any kind of awards.
Griffin has it locked up.
If Splitter is rookie of the year the Spurs make the finals. That's how good his compe ion is.
This. I doubt he is even the best center in this rookie class. In my opinion, Cousins is better than him.
I feel Splitter will be like Manu in his rookie season.
Making the rookie/sop re team and possibly getting into all rookie 2nd.
Does Splitter even have much of a perimeter shot? I haven't seen much in his video highlights that suggest he is a capable scorer away from the basket.
He's saying that Wall and Turner are going to get the opportunity to play 38-40 minutes a night and be their team's #1 offensive option. Splitter won't get near the minutes or the touches required to put up numbers that would win him ROY. What league these guys were playing in last year has nothing to do with it.
Mahinmi will get MIP.
The best players in college are better than the best players in Europe. There's no doubt about that.
Will Splitter make the All-Rookie squad at All-Star weekend? That's perhaps a better question; they take the top 9 or 10 rookies there, and do count positions. Will Splitter be one of the top 4 (or so) big man rookies? I think there's definitely a chance. Griffin, Cousins, and then who? Blair made it last year, so heavy minutes aren't a requirement.
