I don't know if you heard the interview with Pop yesterday. But Pop is in Maine and will be back in town very shortly and they'll talk with Tony and see if they can get it done now.

I don't think Tony wants to wait until the new CBA comes out because it could limit the max contract to 4 years among other things. So I think he'll sign the extension within the next few weeks.

This is all speculation but I think both side want it done now.

Pop also said they have a number they are looking at for Tony, just like they did with Manu. They aren't willing to overpay.

    sure, why not,

give a guy 12 million who aint worth 12 million.

    That makes fiscal sense.

After seeing some of the deals passed around recently, I wouldn't be surprised if Parker doesn't get close to a max deal.

hey T Park, TP gets away, we are over the cap, what would you do? sre you still going to bring scola over here? are you putting everything on Beno? Adrian foyle got 42 million.

Good point, however I don't think Parker is better than Manu, but he is a point guard and he is better than most.

The bar was Nash's deal. Parker is better than Nash.

    What? Nash got 10+ Mill/season?

    Almost max.

I think Parker will get around 6years/60M.

That would start around 7.6M with 12.5% raises.

    With an extention?

If they go into the offseason with a new deal, he'll get 7 years I think.

    7 years 65 - 70 million.

Sure, if the CBA doesn't lower that to 4 years.

I think Tony signs this summer.

I would guess if he is going to do 7 years, it will be for around $100 mill.

Why would he sign for less? There are plenty of teams out there that will have max space available this summer or next.

Dude is young, dude has a ring, dude destroys most compe ors, he has playoff stats, he needs a little more crunch time in him, but , dude has more experience than 90% of the NBA pgs out there.

I wouldn't be surprised if he asks for a near max deal.

If they can sign him now for 7 years (I don't know the CBA well enough to know if they can or if it has to be 6 max), then I think he'll get around 7 years/70M. They aren't going to pay him as much as Duncan, but I think they'll do what they need to do to keep him.

I don't either, but I am curious to know what kind of max deal he is eligible for.

I don't think Tony Parker is that sold on San Antonio and I wouldn't be surprised that if he made a stand and wanted a max or near max deal.

He can go off of Fisher's contract, Nash's deal, Marbury, or homie that was traded from Houston to Orlando, can't think of his name... But in comparison to any of them, TP this year or in the next few, will surpass those yahoos.

The maximum deal that he is eligible for is one that starts at 25% of the cap ($43.87M x .25 = $10.9675M)

He is eligible for 12.5% raises.

And I think he's eligible for a 7-year deal because the Spurs have his Bird's rights.

So that means, as far as I can figure, that he could get maximum ...

    $105,562,188 over 7 years.

Someone who knows better should check my figures.

SO Adonal Foyle gets 42 million, so that means its ok to blow 12 million on Parker.

    10 Million THE MOST.

    Any more and your overpaying.

Hes probobly only worth about 7 mill to be honest.

just curious. Someone mentioned that TP clearly shouldn't get a deal close to Duncan's. While I agree, what exactly is Duncan's contract?

My spy in France (okay, he's my roommate, but he's French and a big Parker fan/knows the French reporter covering TP for French news) says that the word is Parker's been talking about a deal around 70 million.

    FWIW.
