To celebrate the Bicentenary of Mexico's Independence and the Centenary of Mexico's Revolution, the NBA and the government of Mexico agreed to bring a preseason game, it will be played next October 12 in the "Palacio de los Deportes" Arena by the San Antonio Spurs and the Los Angeles Clippers.
"We proudly announce that the NBA returns to Latin America with the 27th game in that region. We expect a fun game full of action between the Spurs and the Clippers", said Phillipe Moggio, VP of the NBA in Latin America.
Tickets will be sold on July 16 with prices somewhere between $23 and $153 dollars

Too bad they didn't make that game in Monterrey, otherwise I would have done a forum party for the 9 or 10 Spurs fans here. I will try to get a press pass to this game, if I do, feel free to send me any questions you want me to ask any player or coach, if I happen to travel to Mexico City I'll try to meet other users of ST (I doubt any will travel there just to see the game).

Blair vs Griffin should be a good match up
Ya, I hope they provide bullet proof vests for these guys...Why in the ..
A few years ago maybe, but now there are too many safety concerns.
This is a really stupid idea.

I hope we can see this on TV. Cool...
Yeah that's sad but true, but I'm pretty sure that their safety is not compromised last year when the Suns played the 76ers here in Monterrey I witnessed all the security barriers they had, fans couldn't get closer than 8 or 9 meters because of bodyguards and policemen protecting the players, coaches, and staff.
But yeah I wanna watch the Blair v Griffin match, does anybody know if Splitter will play??
You guys can log on to latinbasket.com (mexico section) for complete coverage.
It will be on NBA TV 8:30 CST.
Thanks, I hope they have more Spurs than Clippers fans in Mexico.![]()
+ Trill
I'm sure the Spurs will be fine. After all, Mexican drug cartels are fans of the Spurs.
The clippers might be ed though.
why play there
that is so stupid
So they are gonna play in AT&T Center?
That's fo sho, we're gonna see a silver and black arenaI'd say 99% Spurs fans vs 1% Clippers fans
I see what u did there. Nice.
Bonner's injury and the big rotation
http://blogs.mysanantonio.com/weblog...rs-injury.htmlwith Antonio McDyess already excused from the trip south of the border
The Spurs will be safe. creasy bear is on the job

I hope Bonner gets excused from the trip also.
George Hill and DeJuanito are experiencing some problems with their mobile phones.
The whole team should be excused...I am pretty sure if given the chose bonner would be more than happy to be excused, along with every other NBA player. Not sure why you are complainining about Bonner, cause he is still better than 99.9% of all mexican players.
Nah I don't agree, if the whole team gets excused then I will not have a chance to meet Duncan, Manu, Tony, DeJuan, etc; there are many honest persons here, we should not be blamed for the that corrupt pigs and drug dealers do, and we also have the right to be entertained with this world-class events without racist guys like you whining about it.
I am complaining about Bonner just beacuse I don't like the way he playsnot gonna argue with you about the quality of mexican ball players, most of them don't have the proper "breeding ground", instead there are hundreds of guys that suck on to the budget assigned to basketball; but come on, don't tell me that about Bonner, Gustavo Ayón is probably better than him, Lorenzo Mata (half Mexican) defends better than Matt, there are many american ballers playing in the mexican league that could do a better job than Bonner, like Jeremis Smith (Georgia Tech), Jerome Habel (San Diego St.) even old Lou Roe for gods sake.

Baron Davis could play Tuesday
By Ramona Shelburne
ESPNLosAngeles.com
Los Angeles Clippers guard Baron Davis is getting closer to making his exhibition season debut after sitting out the first two weeks of training camp because of a strained calf and a sore left knee.
The veteran point guard said Sunday he could play a couple of minutes in Tuesday's game against the San Antonio Spurs in Mexico City if he doesn't suffer any setbacks before then.
"Today was my first practice and I'm a little rusty," Davis said after the Clippers practiced Sunday morning.
"I'm not worried about it, though. I just have to keep working hard and just keep fighting, getting stronger and build my strength back in my leg so I can have the explosiveness that I need."
Asked whether his knee or his calf is a bigger issue at this point, Davis said: "It's really just a matter of getting both of them right. The knee is feeling good. It didn't swell up today after practice. We'll see what happens with the plane ride and playing in Mexico."
Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro said Davis could be in line for "a few minutes against San Antonio" if he doesn't suffer any setbacks during the flight or after Monday's practice in Mexico City, which is at an elevation of more than 7,200 feet.
"We're just building him up," Del Negro said. "His conditioning is getting better. His weight is getting better. Really it's just a matter of getting him out there."
Del Negro had been critical of Davis' conditioning coming into training camp, stating publicly the veteran point guard had waited too long to get back into basketball shape.
So far, Davis has seemed to react well to those comments from his new coach.
He even laughed when rookie forward Blake Griffin interrupted his interview session with reporters by asking, "So Baron, how do you feel you've played personally?"
Davis laughed, then said: "I haven't played at all."
"Oh, that's right," Griffin joked.
