It depends on which big gets hurt. In 2009 it was Yao Ming, 2010 it was Kendrick Perkins. If those guys don't get hurt, the current Lakers have 0 championships.

It's a stupid thread, like when you fools cite 121-63.![]()
A. And this is conditional on the Kobe Bryant we saw the second half of last season. He's not getting lift on his jumper anymore (creating seperation). His legs looked dead. If that is the Bryant, at 37,000 minutes in the regular-season and 198 postseason games, at the age of 32 we will see the rest of his career, the Lakers will need to adjust to Andrew Bynum and Ron Artest as their bread-and-butter.
They were lucky this year that they got the needed contributions from those guys to make up for Kobe's inability to get his shot off. It's very disconcerting. Even when Kobe would take a bad shot, he still got it off. Last year was the first time I saw him not get over his defender, not create seperation with his two-steps, to pump-fake on the perimeter, and not look great in the open floor.
I think he's done as the best player in the league and I say that as a fan of the guy the past three seasons.
LOL 09 we were up 2-1 vs Rockets and '10 Perkins missed 1 game. But you probably don't remember that because I believe in 09 u were losing in 1st round and '10 you were getting swept
Darrin, gettin' his crock of on.
So what is your take deskboy?
I wouldn't give these s the time of day, Dynasty. It's an assassination thread like the one Luva laid on these humps this morning. for tat.
They have to live with 16 for at least the next 11 months. And there ain't one thing they can do about cept like it.
Let us proceed...
Like I said my take is: we rang a month ago/you can't change that/so you're pissin' in the community well.
Knock yerself out.
I didn't want to believe it when it was Ben Wallace. I wanted to max the guy out in 2006. It happens to all of us. You are ignoring the obvious because you are a fan. We're a year or two away from "Where did Kobe go?" stories.
Did you watch Kobe in the playoffs?
He may have sucked at times. And not every single game did he have his legs. But there were games, especially against Utah and Phoenix, where he still had (not elite but) very good athleticism. That was with a less than healthy knee.
There were plenty of games where he had no problem getting his shot off, even against good defense.
yes Jamstone, against the ty defensive teams like the Suns, players shine offensively. we know.
the simple answer to this thread : zero. The Miami Heat have arrived.
Another amazing basketball take from Cubby![]()
Such spectacular knowledge of the game
If Amare was the the Miami Heat, he would instantly become their best defensive big man. That is how ing terrible your team's defensive front is going to be.
Pure
ing
Garbage
"two away"....That'd be 17 years in the league at that point.![]()
Not too long ago I recall you singin' my praises, BUMP. Now, I can do no right.
Kobe played for 3 years straight when you consider 3 finals appearances, the FIBA world championships, and the Olympics. He was banged up with the finger and knee issues the second half of the season and still had a remarkable run through the playoffs. Pau also put in the same minutes over that time period. Drew was hurt throughout the playoffs and actually finally showed some grit attempting to play through it. Lamar was also playing with shoulder issues.
Yes, all teams deal with such issues so I am not at all making excuses. You don't have to make excuses when you are polishing your 16th. My point is that Kobe and Drew will have thier off seson surgeries as Lamar contemplates doing the same. Kobe and Pau will be more rested this year than the previous 3. The west will be a cakewalk and should allow PJ the luxury limiting the veterans minutes while giving the new players on the team some valuable in season time on the floor.
The Miami Heat spectacle was a pure blessing for the Lakers in several ways. Repeating is a tough road to travel. Miami is going to have that target on their backs that the Lakers teams have had for many many years. The Lakers are not the most hated team anymore. Let's see how they handle the day to day pressures of the hunted. We already know Lebron doesnt have the makeup to handle it by his own admission. Let's see if they can handle the pressure collectively and get out of the east. The motivation factor to put them in thier place will fuel our boys.
Lakers are the team to beat and win 2 of the next 3. Depending on player movement over the 3 years maybe more after.
Kobe is far from done and opinions like Darrin's above only stoke the flames.
It will be 18-17 within 3 years. Count it.![]()
Way to go out on a limb![]()
Would it have been a better post if he said 23-45 in the next 3 years? I have a feeling there was no winning with you in this situation.![]()
