According to a source with knowledge of his plan, Chris Paul has requested that the Hornets trade him to the Knicks, Magic or Lakers before the season begins.
"He wants out," the source told Ken Berger of CBS Sports. "He wants to play with another superstar. He wants to follow LeBron's model of teaming up with other great players."
NBA sources say that members of Paul's camp told them recently, "He's not going to start the season in New Orleans."
The Hornets will try to persuade Paul to remain based on the team's new direction.
"Paul won't go public with his trade request -- if he did, he'd be subject to a fine under NBA rules -- but those with knowledge of his plans believe his desire to pair up with another superstar (or two) has gained too much momentum to stop," writes Berger.
The Knicks are preparing to make an attractive offer to acquire a superstar talent via trade.
"According to sources familiar with the Knicks' strategy," writes Berger, "part of the reason for orchestrating the sign-and-trade for David Lee -- which yielded young talents Anthony Randolph and Kelenna Azubuike from Golden State -- was to stock the roster with attractive assets that could be used to acquire such marquee players if the opportunities presented themselves."
kind of want to see him on the knicks. would be cool.
sons I know the Hornets are no power house by any means ... but MY GOD! we have made the playoffs 2 out of the last 3 years and the only reason we didn't get in last season is due to Paul's injury prone ass. Yes the Hornets have some problems right now due to greedy Shinn, but this thing can be turned around within a year. Once the new owner finally gets the team he WILL spend money. Paul is just a spoiled little just like his butt buddy Lebron S. Pippen and his sense of en lement is outrageous!
CP3 + Howard would be real nice. Like CP3 and Tyson on roids.
I'm surprised you're not jumping on this LL.
I mean you did wanna trade Bosh for Bynum lol.
I wanna see him traded to the Lakers just so when a ball dominant PG loses he won't have the ty team excuse.
In New York, he'd become the biggest name, the face of the Knicks. With Mike D'Antoni, maybe he could work some of that Steve Nash mojo. That's an okay option, but I doubt I want to see a bunch of playground stuff like they did with Tyson Chandler in New Orleans. It would be nice to see him out of teal and yellow. And on a good team.
Gallinari and Randolph, Douglas and Paul, with Amar'e at center. I doubt it would contend much, but they would be fun to watch.
In Orlando, the same thing. He'd set up Howard for lobs and that is about it. I'm ready for the Magic to go away. I hate that team and I hate that Howard's game is incomplete and they barely mention that.
In LA I would be intrigued to see him run with those guys. I don't know what a trade would look like but if the Lakers could get him, it would be Showtime again. Truly, Showtime. I'd love to see the Heat and the Lakers make the Finals every year for the next five (Kobe's limiting that with his age).
God only knows what the excuses would be when LA fell short because Chrissy Paul kept the ball out of Kobe's hands
"But he had 12 assists"
"It's Kobe's fault for not being able to score on an iso when he receives the ball with 4 seconds left on the clock"
You've taken this idea too far IMHO. I agreed with you when your argument was "teams that completly rely on their pg for offense can't win championships".
But now it's turned into "a team with a good pg can't win anything!"
why?? now you freaking out cause other teams are doing it ??? you guys are lame if you dont want compte ion

I'd take ChrisPaul over RuPaul any ing day of the week.
If the Lakers can land Chris Paul for Andrew Bynum, plus filler they would have to do it. He is a top 10 player in the game and they can always try and sign Shaq to make up for the loss of Bynum. Kobe, Gasol, CP3, Artest that's a great lineup right there to throw at Miami. Except I don't think New Orleans would do it because they would want to send him out East and not help the Lakers out.
Vuja for Paul... Lakers could do that.
Seriously Luva, you don't like Paul wearing purple and gold?
When is Deron Williams going to start demanding for a trade?
it's guaranteed he'll have been elsewhere by the transfer deadline of next season, but he won't be traded before their current owner complete the team's selling. Paul is worth about a half of the team's whole value, the other half include the stadium, facilities, brand etc., except Paul the other hornets are just dip s worth nothing at all TBF to them.
Lamar + Luke or Sasha... I'm in.
CP3
Kobe
Artest
Pau
Bynum
Ouuuuuuuuch!
