CORDOBA AND MAR DEL PLATA (FIBA World Championship 2006) - NBA Superstar Emanuel Ginobili along with Fabricio Oberto and Alejandro Montecchia will promote and encourage basketball fans to experience the thrill and excitement of the 2005 FIBA U-21 World Championships, this summer in Cordoba and Mar del Plata Argentina from August 5-14.

The Olympic gold medalists will be traveling to the host cities. Part of the promotion will start with Oberto, participating in some events in the city of Cordoba for about five days. While Montecchia will be in Mar del Plata advertising and endorsing the event. Where great Manu will be is yet to be known.

During this promotional event, the Sports Medicine International Congress will be hosted in Cordoba.

The news was told by the team in charge of logistics of the event at Orfeo Stadium. The visitors were with the local basketball authorities and toured the hotels and other places close to the stadium. They will also be in Buenos Aires during the week.

Cordoba will be the host of Group A which includes Argentina, Australia, Canada, Greece, Iran and Israel. Group B will have China, Lithuania, Nigeria, Puerto Rico, Slovenia and USA in Mar del Plata. The preliminary round will be played from August 5-10, the first four teams of each group will pass to the next round.

The quarterfinals, semifinals and finals will be played from August 12-14 in Mar del Plata.
