I'm just as happy as everyone else at the Spurs goin up 3-2 but lets be realistic here. The way this team is playin we will NOT win a championship until we start playing a of a lot better. This half assed play can be fine against an injured seattle, but i dont care what we did in the regular season, playing this way against a dallas or phoenix will not get it done. spurs did great tonight, able to overcome subpar efforts from TP and TD, but the team as a whole will have to play much more consistently and regain that "killer instinct" that is necessary to close out games and go all the way. this blurb from eric neel of ESPN from the daily dime, pretty much sums up the state of the spurs at the moment...

....and if you go to the link at the bottom of the page check out the pic of poppovich on there! hillarious!

    Get It Together

My buddy Scott is a list maker. When his life gets chaotic, he makes lists of things to do; helps him organize his thoughts, gets his motor running.
The first item on every list is the same three-word mantra: "Get it together." From this all other things flow.

Scott will tell you, Gregg Popovich better be making a list right now. Yeah, his club took control of the series Tuesday night, but if they have any serious thoughts about winning the Western Conference, and if they're planning on challenging Miami or Detroit even a little, they'd better get it together but quick.

They're up 3-2 on a Sonics team without Rashard Lewis and Vlad Radmanovic? That ain't gonna do. That's just one strong Ray Allen fourth quarter away from us all writing "What's Wrong With The Spurs?!" pieces.

Duncan's shooting free throws like he's doing a one-man dinner-theater tribute to Shaquille. Parker's alternating hot shooting nights with timid, clanging performances.

I'm telling you, if they think that'll play against Nash or Dirk, if they think they can take that into Dwayne's house, they better make a list.

If Timmy plays D on the guards with his hands UP...the Spurs win no problem

The Spurs need to stop playing D with their hands on their hips

Thats the biggest adjustment Pop can make to win this series

This half assed play can be fine against an injured seattle,
The Sonics playing better sans Lewis and Rad than with them.

    They're able to run more.

And last I checked, Spurs won by 17 with a healthy Lewis.

And this irrational early ejacuilation freakin' out needs to stop.

In 2003, every series except the Finals looked like a lost cause at some point.

    But it's game by game.

One game is no more telling than another,

I have a list for this guy.

Scott will tell you, Gregg Popovich better be making a list right now. Yeah, his club took control of the series Tuesday night, but if they have any serious thoughts about winning the Western Conference, and if they're planning on challenging Miami or Detroit even a little, they'd better get it together but quick.

Nobody knows how good Miami is, they have played New Jersey and Washington. Sure the wins have been impressive, but it is New Jersey and Washington. The best legitimate big guy on either of those teams is probably...umm..who? Brendan Haywood?

Detroit are up 3-2 against an Indiana team without Artest and with 3 of there top 4 players all nursing injuries. Indiana at there current state should not have been able to take 2 from such a formidable Detroit team, so they aren't playing that great either. Certainly not more impressive than the Spurs.

Duncan's shooting free throws like he's doing a one-man dinner-theater tribute to Shaquille. Parker's alternating hot shooting nights with timid, clanging performances.
Not counting tonight, Tim Duncan is shooting 73.7% from the FT line in the playoffs. Shaq is at 49.1%. Not comparable at all.

I'm telling you, if they think that'll play against Nash or Dirk, if they think they can take that into Dwyane's house, they better make a list.
Not once has any one team failed to score at least 100 points in a game in the Phoenix vs Dallas series. If they think that defense will cut it in the House of Duncan, then they better think twice.

No doubt the Spurs are not a lock to win the whole thing, and they have there problems, but the points this guy makes are weak. He should be the one getting it together.
