I wouldn't be surprised if this were true, but I think it's still safely in the "rumor" category at this point.
Still, likely to happen at least at SOME point in 2011. AT&T is probably the biggest reason not to own an iPhone right now.
So says the link.

Yes, because who wants to pay all that money for a global phone?
Anyway, it doesn't say it's a rumor. What the article says is that production is going to start in December and shipping in January.
Read, then comment. As for the CDMA iPhone, Pegatron Technology is expected to start mass production in December and will supply to both US-based Verizon Wireless and China-based China Telecom......Verizon is expected to announce the product at CES 2011 and will start shipping in January 2011.
AT&T's network is horrible in heavy urban areas. Dropped calls are all too frequent. I would rather have a phone that works in the states and doesn't across the ocean than the opposite. Consumer Reports just gave AT&T the worst rating of the 4 mobile networks -- behind T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon.
But no, you're right, the thousands to tens of thousands of posts you can see on a blog about an iPhone or news about a new Verizon phone where people are clamoring to have it on their network are probably just idiots. Verizon undoubtedly won't sell a single iPhone because it doesn't work for people who want to fly to Europe.
I did read. One magazine's report does not suddenly make it a reality. It's likely what they report is true, but there's also a chance it's a miscommunication. And even if their news is from a reputable source within Verizon, it doesn't magically mean that iPhones are going to be available. Dates can change, production gets pushed back due to manufacturing problems, etc.Anyway, it doesn't say it's a rumor. What the article says is that production is going to start in December and shipping in January.

Be a little more testy with your replies when all I'm responding with is, "err on the side of caution" when you hear a single news report about a story like this.![]()
The first line of the news report:
This year is getting fired up with a lot of rumors and people are expecting a bunch of new gadgets
from Apple. Digitimes is now reporting that Apple is going to launch new Apple TV with iOS, iPads and a CDMA iPhone on Verizon early next year.![]()

It's obviously a rumor... would be good news if confirmed...
Exactly what I initially said. More options = better for consumers.
I just had sex with my Iphone 4
IF they brought the iPhone to Verizon, and IF they decided to make a 64GB iPhone (like they do an iPod Touch) so that I could replace my iPod at the same time, I might finally decide to get a smart phone. The second bit is doubtful, though, so... meh. Much ado about nothing, for me.
Don't touch the magic spot or Mr. Happy might "lose signal".
Well, it's only a matter of time before flash technology outpaces what's available in a hard disk format. It might be a year or three down the road, but a 64 GB iPhone will likely be available by the launch of the next phone. There's too much compe ion for them not to.
lol
I tried

You're saying the bars are sticky and they aren't going down?
haha
No but seriously, I don't even have a case or bumper
