Wouldn't be a bad fit at SF starting or backing up RJ depending on whether we want offense or defense. Intelligent guy with championship experience with great length and defense. Heard the Pistons are wanting to let him go. Could be our defensive stopper we've lacked since our Legendary stopper Bruce left us. Haven't heard anything about him except that he may be available.

6'9" with freakishly long arms and averaged 13.5ppg 5.1rpg, 3.3apg, 37% from downtown. He certaintly wouldn't hurt our chances in my oppinion. Thoughts?

Hes probably too expensive, but i remember seeing him at the Quarry during the 2005 finals and thinking he has the longest arms and being the lankiest person ive ever seen in my life. It would be nice to have him a few years ago when he was in his prime.

He's also coming off an injury season and didn't play all 82 games (missed 33 games) for the first time in six years FWIW.

Prince is certainly older and more expensive. Would've been nice a couple of seasons ago.

Personally, I would've rather had Trevor Ariza - younger, cheaper and would've been more of a seamless fit.

He'd have to be waived or bought out. His contract is too high IMO

I have heard nothing like that. That would be hilarious.

he hasn't been anything remotely resembling a defensive stopper in 3 years.

It would be awesome but the Spurs can't trade RJ for like three months. I don't know if it's three months from when they signed him or from when the season starts, but it's into the season regardless. It is before the trade deadline, but if the Spurs are thinking about taking a chance on Prince midseason then it probably means nobody would touch RJ with a ten meter cattle prod.

I require the opinion of a Piston fan about this.

No. In the NBA, only players with at least eight years of service time and four with the same team are eligible for a no-trade clause.

once his contract is up he would be a of a reserve for the right money. its sad cause this guy is declining fast or could b his time in detroit is wayyyy past due, but like i said he would be a of a bench player/unless the old prince comes back then wed move rj out for sure i think hes got no motivation in detroit same thing happened to sheed and boy did he drop off into a full fledged bum! he had the look to go with it too

I would have liked to see him with the Spurs since he has a ton of playoff experience and can play both Pop's style and D'Antoni's style. Too bad we couldn't have used Mason, Bogans and Ian, +/- cash and/or future draft choice in the 38th round in some form of a trade.

Pistons would love to get rid of his contract and they have three young and promising SFs on the team. On the other hand he is not the player he was. Prince a couple of years ago would have been a perfect fit (theoretically but he got injured), now not so much. The Pistons' young forwards are more interesting IMO.
