I beat this game as a kid. Sup.
I played that Turbo Tunnel so many times that I got good enough at it to beat it without dying about 50% of the time. It doesn't get easier after that though.goddammit that game is ing hard

Silver Surfer is worse.
How many hours of your life did that game rob you of?
There was no reason to play SS because it sucked. Battletoads was hard, but awesome and a blast to play.

My brother spent a good chunk of one summer working towards beating that. Granted anything less than the Dark Queen coming out of the TV to strip and perform BJs would have been a let down after that much work, but he was just about ready to snap the cartridge in half after going through all that just for the standard "Congratulations! A winner is you!" ending.

CH, no idea but I was either playing basketball/football or playing video games as a kid so I had plenty of time to devote.

I beat that goddamned level one time. I had achieved the perfect haze of reef, rum and Wendy's, and managed to fly through it like a champ. I'm pretty sure I flirted with ethereal realms on the final sequence as my fingers darted through the proper commands to complete the course. And then in a moment of euphoric gaming victory, I reached the final bar and the end of the course.
I, too, promptly got my ass handed to me on that following ing ice level, and haven't played Battletoads since.
